Fog over Illinois Two Days In A Row
According to the Weather Channel, this shroud of mist over Illinois will dissipate at 1 PM. It was like this yesterday, also, a pure white sky, mist on the ground for half of the day and then again at sunset (sundown, really, it was pitch black here by 4:40). Totally abnormal and spooky, usually a fog here would either burn off or become snow or rain by 10 AM. The bottom line is that fake clouds do not behave as real clouds do, and I guess we had better get used to it.

Re: Fog over Illinois Two Days In A Row
This is the worst fog I've ever seen in Northern Illinois and has lasted longer than usual...

Re: Fog over Illinois Two Days In A Row
The fog was also in parts of Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Missouri. A relative of mine is in Indiana and posted about it on facebook. School was delayed 2 hours; then possibly cancelled. I guess it is something that has happened there for years. Last year when they had fog delays, she said something about the cornfields holding moisture. I don't know the accuracy of that though. I do know last year I was in VT and got lost at night. Then came into a bunch of fog on a road with cornfields on either side. It was creepy. Made me think of scary movies; not to mention the barn said Elm Hill Farm on it. lol.
