I was thinking about that, it was the 80's. What a scene it was. Damn I guess that was a long time ago

I was there a few months back, Georgetown area, at some special cupcake place with my daughter.

Cupcakes . . . they've come back with a force like never before :)

Talk about a surreal experience. My trip was to the Marbury Plaza Apartments on Good Hope Rd in SE.
I still cannot find this case in Google search, but months ago, a woman in a wheelchair was placed in the handicapped lift to come down to street level, and since the front gate was not proplerly latched, her chair rolled forward from the top landing. No need to say anymore there.
So, when I got there, there were lawyers for the plaintiff, the owner of the complex, an investigator for the lift manufacturer, safety inspectors from DC, and God knows who else. Every move was photographed, since it was an investigation of a death. Every part we took off was photographed, and placed in evidence. I thought it would never end! But of course, we fixed it and got the hell out of there without further incident.

As far as Georgetown, it's been decades for me.
And cupcakes? Don't get me started on baked goods!
