Jesus never mentioned it, it was wrote 300 yrs later by an unnamed source. I give it zero relevance!!! In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. Dwight D. Eisenhower [link to www.h-net.org] |

As you know, Revelation 11 talks about two witnesses, and these two witnesses, or olive trees (v. 4), are Israel and the church. The two olive trees are identified as Israel and the church in Romans 11, particularly verses 17, 21, and 24. Romans 11:15 states that when Israel finally accepts the true gospel of the kingdom, that it will be life from the dead. Back to Revelation 11...in verse 11 we see the breath of God entering into the two witnesses, Israel and the church, 3 1/2 days following their martyrdom, and this is the life from the dead that we read in Romans 11:15. If you are a born again believer, then YOU are one of the two witnesses in Revelation 11, as are all believers from every generation. Together, with Israel, we are going to attain Christlikeness, receive a mighty anointing of the Holy Spirit, and overcome death in a manner similar to Jesus. "Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death” (John 8:51). "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever LIVES AND believes in Me shall NEVER die. Do you believe this?'" (John 11:25-26, emphasis mine). Do YOU believe this? We can be the generation prophesied in Psalm 102:18-20: "This will be written for the generation to come, That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord. For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; From heaven the Lord viewed the earth, To hear the groaning of the prisoner, To release those appointed to death." |
