I usually mix them with an oil like flax or olive oil, or even oil from ranch dressing or mayonnaise or whatever, and have vitamin c, usually from tomatoes or juice of some kind. I think the vitamin c helps break down the spice and the oil helps the body with absorbtion. That is only a guess of how it works, but it does definately work for me. I haven't tried black cumin. |

[link to www.vitacost.com] 12oz cost me $26, North American Herb &Spice brand has wild rosemary, organic garlic oil,and wild oregano oil with it,,just a little so not overwhelming. Works on my friend's itchy post Shingles rash, gentle for any skin inflammations, helps with scarring, feels very nice on skin..Spicy and aromatic, works on a gassy tummy...instant burping, so greatly relieves any bloating. Best taken with food..Great for foot massages..My dog loves it and it's helpful for eliminating worms and parasites..so she gets 1/2 tsp every night. I also add a tsp to a bowl of dry cat food as an option, and it always gets eaten.. Like any herb, apply a little on the skin to test for allergic reactions before using internally.Caution is always wiser. |

It's worked great so far... I'll see if that's still true by the end of allergy season. I'm using just the seed/spice instead of the oil or pills. It has a pretty good flavor. Similar to cumin but different. [link to www.amazon.com] I first read about it on another thread here: Thread: Black seed- "The Health Remedy for Everything But Death" Also I've tossed a few seeds out to grow. I did some muscle testing with a friend and we found H. pylori is the cause of the stomach distress. Aloe vera and a modified diet should take care of that. After that, when my tummy can handle the spices (cloves are tough for me under the best of conditions), I'll do a parasite cleanse. I used to do them with some regularity, but haven't for at least five years...my body's aging, and I need to care for it better now, for different reasons. We do eat well here. I cook fresh with a lot of garlic, ginger, onions, peppers, cilantro, parsley...I sprout. Organic yogurt. Good stuff. Thanks for bringing it up! Parasite cleanses are important. I get stomach cramps and/or acid reflux with them. Quoting: cosmicgypsy Anyone know what to do about this so that I can take these wonderful healers? I have not researched all of these spices but... I have come across info saying that they increase bile and are not recommended for people who have liver and/or gallbladder problems. I take superbio curcumin. I have been taking it nearly 4 months and have noticed a bit of a gallbladder issue the last few wks. I take benadryl and it goes away. (benadryl is given in hospitals to stop gallbladder attacks) Also, remember reading that black seed oil pushes all gas out of the body. When you first start taking it you may notice some cramping as it works to get it out. After a few days it goes away and you find you are significantly less bloated. Many never realized how bloated they were. Several of my family members take black seed oil. It has done wonders for all of us. (mom has copd, she was going through 1 inhaler every two wks. She is using black seed oil and taurine and her inhaler is now lasting more than 9 wks) here are some links to some of the research i did. It was also observed that Nigella sativa prevented the development of significant craving and relapse." Saudi Arabia's King Saud University also found that Nigella seed oil has anti-inflammatory effects, “decreases blood pressure and increases respiration," and is rich in compounds that are effective in treating liver conditions like hepatitis—which affects many drug addicts. While more research would be welcome, anecdotal evidence is strong. One user of an online heroin forum reports that the oil “works well for sleep during withdrawals.” Another asserts that “taking the oil has vastly reduced all cravings for opiates." My husband takes 2 at bedtime. I use the oil on my skin. I have been able to stop taking zyrtec everyday. (I only take benadryl when I feel a twinge in the gallbladder area)It took care of my eczema. And one of the better benefits, it significantly reduced fine lines around the mouth and eyes in only a few days. Mom has copd, high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol. Her doctor just took her off all meds. The black seed oil and taurine have kept her levels where they need to be w/o prescription meds. The only med she still uses is her inhaler. As I stated previously, she has gone from 1 inhaler every two wks to 1 inhaler lasting more than 9 wks. My son has only been taking it a short time and is taking it as a preventative.
