Too bad for you there is plenty of evidence to show that all is normal. The ancient egyptians and hawaians described it. Lewis Carroll used it for the Cheshire cat (that is why it is called a Cheshire Moon) I'm fairly certain it is also mentioned in the bible and Shakespeare. Just because you never noticed it before doesn't mean nobody else has.

Have you downloaded the spreadsheet, tried it for yourself, or looked at the math to see why it's like that? This information comes from a book over 20 years old. And really all that gets you is the moon's coordinates for any given point in time; the part where it calculates the apparent orientation comes after that and if you understand that part you can see that it's a natural consequence of the difference between equatorial and altitude-azimuth coordinates (ie, field rotation) and the moon's position in the sky relative to the sun.

It's all there, and it all works, even on an old photograph like the one I referenced. That's exactly how it should look from that location at that time.
