I did hear some of these comments as well and my ears perked up.

I also find it interesting that they pick a pope who is almost as old as the one that just retired.

Time will tell if he is "the one". If he's not.. I think he'll be very very short term.

It is funny how most of you think one minded in this. In the end times, does it not say that the AC will gather its armies to prepare for battle against God, the Saints, and the faithful? What if this Pope is sent to gather forces for God and to prepare for the final battles of Armageddon against the AC... Before the AC is finally destroyed there will be battles and whispers of battles amongst all living creatures.

And, in the end, a war will be fought and God will smite the AC and stand among the faithful. Take warning not to follow false assumptions that may lead you astray.
