i think you will find that its really because animals are dumb and it happen regularily in the wild. it can be clearly seen in our domesticated cows, sheep and dogs etc that they do attempt to hump either species.. until the hormones of the opposite sex come into play an enable them to have sex. sex rarely happens as in actual insertion when the other party is not willing in the animal world.
