Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Quoting: TheOriginalMind Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care if we Republicans run off the climate cliff like a bunch of proverbial lemmings and disgrace ourselves? I’ll tell you why. We’re stuck in this together. We are stuck in this together. When cyclones tear up Oklahoma and hurricanes swamp Alabama and wildfires scorch Texas, you come to us, the rest of the country, for billions of dollars to recover. And the damage that your polluters and deniers are doing doesn’t just hit Oklahoma and Alabama and Texas. It hits Rhode Island with floods and storms. It hits Oregon with acidified seas, it hits Montana with dying forests. So, like it or not, we’re in this together.” Whitehouse went on to condemn the current Republican position on global warming, citing economic, environmental and diplomatic damages." I blame the shit bags using haarp causing earthquakes in the middle of the storm 2.9m usgs fuck their couches lol |

TheOriginalMind (OP) User ID: 39166829 United States 05/21/2013 01:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The good Senator is 100% correct. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21245244 You morons never even have an intelligent argument against the science of global warming and increasingly violent storms. "It's da sun, derp. Just cuz it is. An Al Gore suckz, derp." The argument is simple: there is no science behind the claim that climate change is man made. There are three basic reasons as to why the "science" is flawed: 1) The predictive models are consistently wrong. If the strength of a theory is measured by its predictive power, climate "science" is one of the weakest theories every proposed. 2) The "science" behind the claim that climate change is man made is highly selective in the data it draws upon. This is most starkly shown by its total disregard for the impact of the Sun on climate change. 3) The "science" has been shown, time and time again, to be driven by political, not scientific, demands. Climategate was the most obvious example of this. The burden of proof is on the person who asserts the positive. No proof has been given in favor of man made climate change. And in fact, professors who promote the concept now argue that the cause of climate change is irrelevant. They say that whether we cause climate change or not is irrelevant - we need to take action to stop it. They admit, in saying this, that their decades of "science" are bankrupt, and that their intention is simply to impose their conception of "environment" on the world. Some of the more honest admit that it is simply a tool to impose communism. |
