eating only meat would've had the same effect on the child, its just as unhealthy- no matter what you need a spectrum of different nutrients.

You can be a healthy vegan, or a healthy meat eater but knowledge of what youre eating and what you need to be eating is essential.

We are omnivores not herbivores, unless you have a Masters in nutrition you most likely won't get the proper nutrition from a vegetarian diet.

Ok, I'm a guy but I did help raise my child and it seems to me that by 11 months old my kid was eating some baby food.
I know most baby food is veggies and fruit, but there is also meat and other things. Also, I suspect that even veggie baby food may be fortified.

Not true. The Inuit eat a 100% animal diet. Anthropologists living among them have eaten the same diet over long periods with no ill effects so it isn't just a genetic mutation peculiar to that population. Whole carcass consumption is the key to this way of living. Even just consuming things such as liver and marrow goes a long way towards meeting human dietary needs.

This, by 11months my kids were eating what I was eating, mashed or chopped up and drinking less milk. I breast fed up to a year, and trust me by the time they get to about 4/5 months you need to start feeding with food, or they drink milk 24/7 cause it don't fill them up no more.

because the baby had significant vitamin deficiencies caused by untreated deficiency in the mother and the mothers choice to solely breast feed until 11 /12
these deficiences caused the child to be unhealthy

it probably got some minor illness and was overwhelmed because of it's malmourished state

in not weaning the infant at the appropriate time ie 5-6/12 and in her own malnourished breast milk- she malnourished her child

it could have been healthier and maybe not died if the mother had not been ignorant of the nutritional needs of herself and her infant

there is no excuse - postnatal advice is free ,baby checks are free , every test is free - she would have been entitled to free prescriptions of supplements and anything prescribed for the infant in terms of supplements would have been free
