Looks like the southern half of La. will see the worst of these cells.

My family is in SW LA - doesn't seem to be getting hit too hard.

No not yet, but I'm wondering what these cells passing through your area might do still. The front that's in Eastern La. was dieng out, but now it seems to be coming back to life.

Tennessee just reported hail again also. Strange, it's like all of these cells are recharging all of a sudden.

yes - they are recharging. I thought they were going south of us and one sprung up out of nowhere right on top of us - only produced lightening though, no hail. The air is really cool right now, I can't figure out what's fueling them.

Yea, I saw how all of these just rolled down on you. I thought the gulf stream would keep them to the north of you. I'm thinking there had to be a dip/shift in the jetstream.

Hopefully this is the last set you'll see tonight and you'll be able to get some sleep.
I think I'm going to put some coffee on myself and keep an eye on what these do.

I think we've got one more line on its way and then it's over. Can't tell if this last one is dying or regrouping!

Yea, that's kind of what I'm afraid of. It looks like this system might feed another set in. You can see that system that was in southern Texas pulling the moisture down on you as it rotates down.

it's not showing much on the map but we've got lightning and wind again.

I'm still keeping an eye on it. Just looking at the water vapor maps, looks like you can barely see a pocket developing in central Texas, that's the one I'm watching for your area.

Things have calmed down at this point - getting a little rain still and that's it.

SW LA is getting the bad stuff now.

yea, those are the cyclonic systems that've been rolling in here for the last few months. Those are the ones that raise the most hell when they merge with the gulf stream and roll into the central states.

That cell isn't too bad now going into La. It seems to have lost a bit of it's strength since it passed you. Newton county to yyour NE has a tstorm watch up right now but that's about it. Tennessee is still getting a few warnings right now though.

Looks like the worst has passed for your area. That little bit of moisture in the central area doesn't look like it's going to do anything except for some scattered clouds around there.

Yea, Tennessee is the one getting smacked with the high winds and hail now.

Caruthersville Starts Cleanup...Again

April 26, 2006 – CARUTHERSVILLE, MO -- The National Weather Service in Memphis confirms there were two tornados that tore through Pemiscot County around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The first touched down just west of the community of Deering, then lifted up and re-touched down a quarter mile south of where an F-3 struck only 24 days earlier.

The second twister landed near Steele, crossed Interstate-55 and then traveled to Cottonwood Point.

It's been more than three weeks since an F3 tornado ripped through Caruthersville, destroying more than half of the town. On Tuesday, two F1 tornados ripped through this already ravaged community.

“I think that everyone's in shock that it happened again, so fast especially,” said Caruthersville resident Chris Patterson.

Patterson and his family were at home on April 2nd and on Tuesday when severe weather spawned tornados. The Patterson home escaped damage the first time, but wasn't so lucky yesterday.

“My tree fell over and the other tree fell on my roof and an awning from my neighbor’s shed from across the street over here came up here and punched a hole in my roof,” said Patterson.

“The people that had their houses damaged, they're in just as bad a shape as the ones that lost everything on April 2nd,” said Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell.

The rebuilding process is slowly but surely coming along. While the second round of severe weather may be a setback for this community, it's a lesson in endurance.

“It will be a slow process, but they'll get there,” said Patterson.
“We've had our share and I don't wish any bad luck on anyone else, but I wish it would go somewhere else,” sighed Greenwell.

Two minor injuries were reported in Tuesday's tornados, but again the town of Caruthersville continues to count its blessings. Fortunately, no one was killed.

The National Weather Service in Memphis also reported damage from straight line winds between Highway 412 and Highway C near Stubtown.
