ive heard of folks having an allergy to it but i bet more kids were poisoned by peanuts.a real death threat.or shellfish.

I'd actually consider that progress....usually when there's a marijuana scare-story in the press, it's accompanied by a shitty, pun-laden headline.

Proof this is bullshit propaganda being pushed by morons:

1.) Marijuana is neither toxic nor poisonous, so you cannot be "poisoned" by it.

2.) Nobody under 60 says "youngsters".

3.) Since 2009, a dozen children have ingested a non-hazardous plant and were fine after a while, and I should care why?

kids don't get into legal alcohol. nope.

Several children in Oregon have used it, with positive results:

1. Twelve kids from 2009 admitted to the hospital with no lasting effects.

2. The "doctor" is a chiropractor as far as I can tell, so I don't know what his agenda is about.

3. They don't post any data, only his claim.

I don't like pot,,,, in fact, I think it sucks, but don't try to push an agenda. This is as dumb as calling it the devils drug.

I think this plus the fact that they have put "poisoning" in quotes tells us all we need to know about the agenda. It as much as admits that it is not a poison, and that the only real problem is peoples irresponsibility with where they leave their stash.

There is no real toxicity to it and the article does admit that the children suffered no ill effects after they had come down. Even the authors of the article know it is not really poisonous in the classical sense of poison, because they put "poisoning" in quotes. This is not a propaganda article, and if you think it is, you have not actually read it, but are responding to the title. The real conclusion is that some people are a bit irresponsible about where they keep their stash or hide their brownies. That is a legitimate concern because if we want eventual legalization, then people need to be aware of children in their environment. Because the first thing the bleeding hearts and the prohibitionists will jump on is "think about the children".

The recent changes to Colorado´s marijuana laws have made it easier for those who need pot for their ailments to get their medicine. Unfortunately, with an abundance of marijuana and easier access to it come some unintended consequences.

According to new research, there´s been a marked uptick in accidental ingestion of marijuana by children. What kids may believe to be a harmless brownie or cookie may be laced with powerful marijuana which can affect children much differently than it does adults. Dr. George Sam Wang is a medical toxicology fellow at the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center in Denver who calls this accidental ingestion “poisoning” and claims more than one dozen children have been admitted to the hospital since the passage of 2009´s state-wide legalization act.
