TSA searches valet parked cars at airport now...WITHOUT CONSENT OF OWNER....WHAT CONSTITUTION?
[link to www.whec.com]

So the woman contacted News10NBC. We found out it happened to her because she valet parked her car. Those are the only cars that get inspected. So if security feels it is necessary to search some cars in the name of safety, why not search all of them?

Laurie Iacuzza walked to her waiting car at the airport after returning from a trip and that's when she found it, a notice saying her car was inspected after she left for her flight.

Iacuzza said, “I was furious, they never mentioned it to me when I booked the valet or when I picked up the car or when I dropped it off.”

Iacuzza's car was inspected by valet attendants on orders from the TSA. But why only valet parked cars? That's what News10NBC wanted to ask the TSA director about. We reached him by phone.

News10NBC's Berkeley Brean asked, “Are the cars in the short term lots and long term lots getting searched as well?”

John McCaffery, TSA, said, No, those vehicles that are in the garage, short term long term parking, even if they carry pretty large amounts of explosives, they would not cause damage to the front of the airport. But for those who use the valet, the car could be there for a half hour or an hour so there is a vulnerability.”

News10NBC went to the valet parking and one of the attendants showed us the notice they put in the cars.

Brean said, “You're required, they tell you, you have to search the car?”

Frank Dettorre, valet parking attendant, said, “I have to do it.”

We also noticed a large sign that alerts customers that their vehicle will be inspected. The sign is on the kiosk window. Laurie Iacuzza says it was not there when she dropped off her car.

Iacuzza said, “I think the public should be aware of the fact that if their car is going to be searched, they should be informed of it.”

Laurie said she doesn't mind the security measure. She just wants to be told if her car is getting searched. News10NBC asked the owner of the company that runs the valet parking when they put up the sign. He wouldn't answer. TSA says this is part of its overall security plan and that it's a proactive move. The attendants said they've only been doing it for about a month.

Have a story you want our news team to investigate? Ca

As outrageous as that is, the same woman who was furious that her car was searched without her permission or knowledge willingly gave up her 4th amendment rights when she let the TSA get even more personal when they scanned her and or patted her down. She was only upset that they left her a note after the fact. At the end of the news video they said she didn't mind that they searched her car and even felt safer. She just wanted to know before hand. She is a frog in a pot.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

Even if you knew in advance of taking your car to valet parking and cleaned it out of every personal item....

I would be really scared that the TSA would (not could) plant something in my vehicle....for tracking and not just that but for video and audio.

Just dam this nazi organization. Logic would say they will get their "come-upens" in the end. (that means they will get what they deserve) What comes around goes around.

IMHO..........another reason that they search valet vehicles is because THEY CAN GET ACCESS TO THE CAR KEYS.

The vehicles in long term parking (as far as I know)...the owner has the keys in his/her possession.

Sneaky little devils, aren't they?

So what about newer cars that have the "valet lock" option? I know mine does... Do they just bust open the glove box and the trunk?

Oh Laurie you don't mind be assumed guilty. You don't mind being tracked, traced and databased.

Let's imagine what else Laurie doesn't mind

Laurie said she doesn't mind the government listening to her phone calls

Laurie said she doesn't mind the government monitoring what food she buys

Laurie said she doesn't mind the government monitoring what she reads

Laurie said she doesn't mind the government making her exercise

Laurie said she doesn't mind the government putting cameras in her house and car

Laurie said she doesn't mind the government taking her children to raise them properly

Laurie said she doesn't mind the government reading her mail

She just wants to be told (how her rights have been violated)
