Sounds like the kind of stuff you want a fish to swim in even your family! To be fair the river has cleaned up alot since the 70's but its still has high Coliform counts when the rain water overflow dumps into the river before treatment....swimming wouldn't be safe because of the strong tides too....I used to fish there but its just catch and release...in the 70's the fish from the river smelled like diesel fuel.... There are still PCBs and Mercury in the sediments....a warning goes out anytime they dredge and stir up the bottom....There is still much to do before its a real beach... |
