Raising the debt limit is fiscally irresponsible. This is not at all a conservative direction to go. We need to cut spending, continue paying the already astoundingly high debt, and not extend the government credit card to allow new spending.

I predict:

Obama to finally give a little bit in his "no negotiations stance" and to then take credit for getting those that are currently furloughed back to work and saving the day...

In any event, the debt ceiling will once again be raised so the gov can dig our country deeper into debt all the while spending the new debt on more gov spying, etc and we can go through all of this crap again in a few months

Well because polichickens didn't follow Keynesian economics and failed to raise taxes when the economy recovered to pay down debts incurred while in recession and to replenish rainy day funds. They were more focused on being re-elected than doing what was right, but that's status quo for the cluckers.
