whiteangel also known as WA User ID: 54218278 United States 04/05/2014 02:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have done a study of the earthquakes that have been posted on the USGS and EMSC sites. Quoting: Vuuren50 It does appear that not everything is being posted. My study has been posted on a new thread as not to upset your conversations. Thread: Yellowstone Rabbit Hole Let me know what you think. Thanks I can't get to the excel spreadsheet after downloading the word document. Not sure if it's just me? I have put the excel file on as a separate share [link to drive.google.com (secure)] USGS, GlobalIncident and many others --- none of them list all the quakes that happen. USGS is the worse IMHO. When the Canary Islands were last swarming, the USGS didn't list the quakes until 19 hours later and then only 3 or 4 of the 50+ quakes there had been. YS shows some motion but not quaking [link to www.isthisthingon.org] When you pull up all magnetude quakes here [link to earthquake.usgs.gov] I am seeing a bunch of small stuff in Washington state, making me wonder if this is one of the volcanoes up there. So-CA has some low mag swarming going on, along with Alaska as I am sure you have noticed. All of these are normal and don't usually trigger this much activity on here--- [link to geophysics.eas.gatech.edu] Weather doesn't seem to be an issue [link to www.weather.com] and yes I am watching here Cook Inlet... There's too much spectrogram clutter showing for it to be a malfunction imo |

Yup, I remember specifically talking about the Canary Islands not showing up on USGS when that happened. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

M1.618 User ID: 35833642 Canada 04/05/2014 03:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Something is wrong with Chile ... Quoting: M1.618 It's like the significant venting point for global tectonic pressure. I waiting for it to behave like it has historically, but its not happening... Chile? well, it looks to me like Ecuador just popped its cork..... If the world is broken up according to fault lines & if an area is active it effects the countries in that region. That area in general is behaving differently in frequency and intensity than previously. Japan has been relatively quiet lately, unlike the past several months. wmMmw |

AKObserver User ID: 21546479 United States 04/05/2014 03:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Quoting: Anonymous Coward 41746819 This registers events near and far Real-time data for station TLLS: Seismogram shows a single vertical-component seismogram, and spectrogram, showing the relative distribution of energy between 0 and 10 Hz (bottom to top). Data will nominally be shown for about the last 2 hours, and should auto-update every 1 minute. Timing is in Universal coordinated time (UTC), and is either 4 or 5 hours later than Georgia, depending on daylight saving time. Small clock errors may remain in this station. These images are normally filtered to retain signal between 0.5 and 2 Hz (band-pass filtered between 2 and 0.5 seconds). This removes some long-period noise, and some building noise. Waveforms are more sensitive to large distant earthquakes. Note: spectrogram is unfiltered. |
