Two disposal wells shut down following Cushing earthquake

The plan calls for two disposal wells to cease operations entirely and for three others to reduce their disposal volumes.

The Oklahoma Geological Survey has said it is likely that many recent earthquakes in the state have been being triggered by the injection of wastewater from oil and natural gas drilling operations.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for south-central Cook County and central Will County until 5:15 p.m.

At 4:43 p.m., a severe thunderstorm that was capable of producing a tornado was located near Monee or Frankfort, moving east at 20 mph, according to the weather service.

"This storm has a history of producing a funnel cloud, which could develop into a tornado," the weather service said in a warning statement.

"Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs...windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely," according to a weather service alert.

"This dangerous storm will be near Richton Park and Monee around 5 p.m., University Park around 5:05 p.m., Matteson and Olympia Fields around 5:10 p.m., Park Forest and Flossmoor around 5:15 p.m."

Earlier, the weather service declared a flash flood watch for northeastern and north central Illinois beginning at 7 p.m. Friday.

While my family originated from Co. Wexford and then Kilkenny, there are also a major Eyre clan in Galway (though we are still working on the genealogy to see if there is a connection to them or not). I will be seeing my ex fiance next month when he comes to the US ... it's been 18 years! I can't wait to meet his wife and his lil daughter! =)

My ancestors were from Galway and were the governors from 1600 to 1800, in total there were 88.

Traffic nightmare next week as Chinese president visits Seattle
Xi will arrive at Paine Field in Everett Tuesday morning. He's expected to visit Seattle, the Eastside, and Tacoma during his stay.

Because Xi is a head of state, he will receive Secret Service protection similar to what a U.S. President would receive. That means a police escorted-motorcade resulting in traffic stops and slowdowns that could affect more than just one highway.
