I'm freaking out a bit. My mom is too. Anxiety through the roof. My mom invited me over for lunch. She said the menu is cocktails lol. I don't know that our anxiety levels should be under the same roof right now so I'm staying put until the next update. This is really bad. : (

Do what you feel is right for you. I can't imagine the fear. Deep breathing and visualiation of a positive outcome - that's the best advice I've got. Take care of yourself.

What is HELLP Syndrome?

HELLP syndrome is a life-threatening pregnancy complication usually considered to be a variant of preeclampsia. Both conditions usually occur during the later stages of pregnancy, or sometimes after childbirth.

HELLP syndrome was named by Dr. Louis Weinstein in 1982 after its characteristics:

H (hemolysis, which is the breaking down of red blood cells)
EL (elevated liver enzymes)
LP (low platelet count)

I'm trying. They have her on magnesium to help prevent a seizure. They have to keep her as calm as possible because stress can cause her to seize. And if that happens, all hell breaks loose. Her water did break and she recently has gotten the urge to push so hopefully she will deliver soon, vaginally. The baby HAS to come out today. So if she's unable to deliver vaginally they will have to do a c-section.

Getting the baby out safely is priority. Keeping my sister calm so that she doesn't have a seizure or coma is the only way they'll get the baby out safely. She will still be at high risk of seizure even after she delivers which is why no one can visit at all today. She must be so scared. And she must want our mom there so bad. I just want to hug her and be there with her. : (

My poor brother-in-law. He's the only one allowed there and they're letting him keep his phone so he can update all of us. She can't have her phone. Thank God he is such a calming type of a person in general. He has a way about him that can make anyone feel better about anything. Even under high stress he holds his shit together completely. And especially for my sister. So I am extremely grateful for that right now because she needs that more than anything today.
