Here, the temps slowly start to decrease in September. Come the early part of October, we'll have an Indian summer week where it can get into the high 80's. Then, the temps start to drop off again and we get flurries for halloween. We MIGHT get a decent snow before Thanksgiving, but it is quickly washed away by bitter cold, icy rain that lasts through mid-January. If you want any measurable snow here, ya have to wait until Valentines Day to get it. This is how it's been for the last 10 years here. Never used to be like this when my kids were growing up.

Same. Weather used to be much more predictable. In NM when growing up you knew what it was going to be like, even the 7 year cycle. Not anymore.

It is crazy. Winds have finally calmed down, but watching the news and seeing all of the damage everywhere is insane.

Schools in some areas were cancelled today and some will be cancelled again tomorrow.

Hundreds of thousands still without power and some will be without power for days.

I thank God I didn't lose power or have any damage to my home or our vehicles.

At midafternoon, well over half of a million were without power across the Northeast. State-by-state count.... #vtwx #mawx #mewx #nhwx
