Mystery in Colorado: Loud Booming Sound Frightens Residents, Baffles Authorities

Authorities and residents in Colorado are trying to figure out what caused a mysterious, loud booming sound Monday night, the latest in a series of strange booms reported across the country.

According to the Tech Times, residents in the Colorado towns of Lakewood, Brighton, Lochbuie and Elizabeth reported what sounded like an "explosion" or a "sonic boom" around 9 p.m. The boom was so powerful that it shook windows and left people bewildered, and some just a little frightened.

Good lookin tree. I miss getting the real ones, been almost a decade! My roomate just put up our tree today. She zig zagged Christmas lights in the shape of a tree hahaha. Apparently the 3 cats destroyed their tree last year hence the makeshift one.

I haven't had a real one in years myself. They make such a mess lol. I was content-ish with my fake tree over the years. It was cute and looked real. But there's nothing like the smell of a real tree. Although this one is making me sneeze! I've been sneezing all damn day and it's driving me crazy lol! I've had that constant, about to sneeze, tickle going on in my nose allllllll dayyyyy!!!!

That sappy smell, yup. What i miss the most too! Give it a few days i'm sure after the evergreen dust settles your nose will be alright hahah. These cats give me the same about to sneeze 24/7 sensation - its rough, i feel ya pain. did you check for squirrels?

And holy fuck...no smoking within several feet of the tree.

It is!! It fit like a glove lol. It's funny because all of us who went today have been group texting pics of our trees to each other as we get them up. Everyone's trees just fit in their houses. A couple inches taller, for all of us, wouldn't have fit. : )

New city, still in VA. Only about 30 minutes west of where i was. Closer to the country and them blue ridge mountains. I'm diggin it so far. STill need to find a more stable job, but i'm sure it'll come in due time.
