Isis One User ID: 75230280 United States 01/23/2018 12:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | SOLAR FLARE AND CME: Magnetic fields threading the remains of decaying sunspot AR2696 erupted on Jan. 22nd at approximately 0300 UT: movie. The explosion produced a minor B9-class solar flare and hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) into space. Because of the blast site's location near the sun's western limb, the CME is unlikely to hit Earth. Nevertheless, NOAA analysts are modeling the CME's trajectory to rule out an impact. Yeah... They said we'd see more large quakes this year. January has had some big shakes so far. I'm glad no real damage or deaths came with this Alaska one. But i have a unsettling pit in my stomach today for the future. |

But i have a unsettling pit in my stomach today for the future. Yup. You can type in more earthquakes for 2018 into your favorite search engine and dozens of articles will pop up due to the presumable slowing down of the earth's rotation. Youtube also has a variety of reports from geologists and seismic institutes that are saying pretty much the same thing. I know what you mean by the unsettled feeling. Can't seem to shake it this time. Gonna take a nap for a bit so see ya later. |

WhiteAngel also known as WA User ID: 13752844 United States 01/23/2018 03:27 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Historically, January isn't known for large quakes, 8.0+ in size. OCT = 4 JAN = 5 FEB = 6 JUN = 6 JUL = 6 AUG = 7 MAR = 9 // 9.0 & 9.3 Japan & Alaska APR = 9 DEC = 9 // 9.1 Sumatra NOV = 10 SEP = 11 MAY = 13 // 9.6 Chile SPRING - MAR APR MAY = 9+9+13 = 31 FALL - SEP OCT NOV = 11+4+10 = 25 WINTER - DEC JAN FEB = 9+5+6 = 20 SUMMER - JUN JULY AUG = 6+6+7 = 19 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ When I did this chart a few years ago, I had been noticing that Spring time always meant more quaking so I went back to 1900 and clicked on all 8.0+ quakes. Today's quake wouldn't show up because of the down grade, even though it came in as a 8.2 on most sites and 8.3 on a few. Then USGS downgraded it to 7.9 and most of the other sites did the same. Now, when I did do the chart, I remember putting in 7.7 and higher because I knew most quakes were downgraded big time and I wanted the large quakes to see if Spring really was a hot month for quakes. It was and is with May being the #1 month for big quakes.
