KickinIt User ID: 74785546 United States 09/11/2019 11:02 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | @WeatherNation Quoting: joinca More heartwrenching footage of #Dorian's wrath on Grand Bahama Island. From Field Correspondent @bclemms video [link to twitter.com (secure)] Every video I watch gives me a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. : ( One has to really close their eyes, and try to begin to imagine the absolute HORROR the survivors (and deceased) faced during that never-ending insanely powerful storm. Their windows being blown out of their homes, raging waters rushing in, winds so loud you can't even think straight, etc. The number of dead bodies the survivors have seen that aren't being talked about on MSM. The desperation after the storm. Nothing left. No shelter, food, water, medical care, etc. for many still. No escape. Knowing you will likely starve to death. Weak. Scared. Just terrible. :s27_heartfelt: I support a charity group called Mercy Chefs, have for many years. THey are a great organization, and have helped so many people all over the globe, especially in the US, for many years. They are on-the-ground in Grand Bahama, providing hot food. They are ramping up to feed about 8,000 hot meals a day. And their reports are heart-wrenching. Yesterday Gary LeBlanc, the founder, reported that the Governor of the Bahamas confirmed that over 3,000 people are dead and that number is expected to rise. Gary's teams have worked in Haiti, Puerto Rico, was in Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast, and is still providing help in Florida from last year's hurricane. He says that the devastation in the Bahamas is unlike anything he has ever seen. That says a lot. Samaritan's Purse, Franklin Graham's operation, has provided their mobile hospital in the Bahamas - a real MASH unit! It has surgical capabilities, ICU unit, and is fully staffed. Samaritan's Purse has put out an urgent appeal for volunteers to come to the Bahamas to help with clean-up and help put tarps over houses that survived the storm. The needs there are unbelievable! GfG put this over on Mons weather thread and it is very sad. |

It takes a lot to get me out on a week night anymore, and last time I think it was a work event that I went to straight from work and by the time I got home everyone thought I had croaked. Quoting: KickinIt Going to see this guy: Appreciate the heads up! You're probably home by now, but I hope you had a great time! It was a really good show, and I appreciated the setlist, which was a very good compilation of songs from all of his eras. He got in a lot of his hits, and there were also a few surprises that I wouldn't have guessed he'd play - one of which is one of my favorite songs by him, so that was awesome. But the best part is he ended the whole show with Let Love Rule, and everyone was into it and singing and holding hands swaying in the air as one (he made us). Then he says, "I'm coming down there with ya!" and he came onto the floor and I about SHIT myself. I immediately turned into a screaming school girl as he wandered through the floor seats and aisles. He ended up coming down an aisle RIGHT NEXT TO US! It all happened very fast, and of course I was screaming throughout. He looked good, damn good, and his voice was surprisingly perfect. He hasn't lost a bit there. Great pitch and still has the power when required. HAHA!!! So fun! I would've reacted the same, I'm sure! He isn't hard on the eyes. Awe, happy you had a good time! <3 ~*Ride the Wave*~ |
