Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated

Nef is out of surgery and getting ready to be brought to ICU. Doctor said surgery went well but that tonight is very important. He made sure to really let me know that he's not out of the woods and stressed the importance of how things go tonight. He's a high risk patient because of his lungs and went into this with lung inflammation. I'm actually more nervous now than I was earlier. Weird phone call. Not very comforting. He said he will definitely be in ICU overnight tomorrow as well.

He ended up doing a double bypass instead of triple because the third artery was so small that he said it wouldn't have done him any good.

The good news is so far so good. I'll take it! I guess tomorrow is when the anxiety can start to go down. Dr. Doom freaked me out though.

Good Morning!

Nef is doing well this morning! They got him off the ventilator (thank God) and he is no longer sedated. I was able to speak with him for a few minutes! He's in a lot of pain, of course, but he's in good spirits. The nurse said today will be the worst for pain.

Sorry to hear about this...you've sure had you're share of health problems! Praying you find the right doctors, they do the right tests, and you finally get some answers...and treatment!

Haven't ever heard of someone losing a screw out of a spinal fusion. Wow. Hope the fix isn't as bad as it sounds!!! Please keep us posted. Has it been causing pain?? Other issues?? You're def in my thoughts and prayers!

It's back to the neurosurgeon..it's always back to the neurosurgeon. It was my first time hearing of fusion screws backing out as well. After a bunch of research, I find that it is pretty rare. The surgery to fix it is supposed to be easier on the body than a fusion.

I have a bunch of issues that are all related to one main issue...comorbidities they call them. My neck is thrashed.
