Check out the priests saying a rosary during the nuclear bombing of Nagasaki, all safe and no radiation poisoning, yet just a few blocks from ground zero. The documentary opens on Hiroshima 1945. 8 Jesuit priests living just 8 blocks from the blast site miraculously survived the atomic blast. Everyone else within a radius of roughly 1.5 Kilometres was reportedly killed instantly, and those outside the range died of radiation within days. However, the only physical harm to Fr. Shiffer was that he could feel a few pieces of glass in the back of his neck. The priests have been examined over 200 times by scientists. Each time the priests repeated the same explanation for their survival, "We believe that we survived because we were living the message of Fatima.". Going into a deep meditative state, via prayer, chanting or meditation, will provide this state of inner calm -- regardless of to whom one is praying to, or what one is thinking or saying. One absolutely does need to be a Christian to experience this effect. More importantly, though, OP, people died and many Christians lost their homes, and everything that they had. I just spoke with one of my friends in the Midwest (who happens to be a Christian, by the way), and he said that the suffering of his extended family & his neighbors is profound, and that they're horrified by the vast scale of the devastation in their county. But, you're implying that "Jesus" basically picked and chose which Christians to save, and left the rest to suffer? My friend and his family WERE praying (to the same God figure that you worship), and they're goodhearted, kind people, yet their neighborhood was not spared. You honestly believe that your God intentionally "saved" one street, but callously & monstrously allowed all of the other people who believed in him to suffer? Is that really what you believe? And, how could you even worship an entity that would do such a thing -- who would haphazardly pick and chose who deserved to suffer? Threads like this are so incredibly sick and such a slap in the face to those who have already been victimized enough by these storms. How on earth do you not see that? Where is your compassion? It is threads like these that turn people away from Christianity, because, if you're so utterly blind and cold-hearted about the suffering of your fellow humans, how can one take anything that you say about a "loving God" seriously? If you honestly believe that you've been gifted with compassion and discernment...perhaps you should actually try to use it, instead of constantly using other people's pain to push your own personal religious agenda. |

Evidence would include raw meteorological or GPS data, or the like. (For instance, I could not quote a paragraph from the "Harry Potter" novels and then offer it to you as "factual evidence" of anything involving events in the real world, nor would showing you some YouTube videos of one person's wholly random experience count as adequate, universal proof.) Moreover, there are videos posted that show the utter devastation of that very same tornado, in other parts of the county. These videos would seem to "prove" that your "God" most certainly did not stop the storm, in any way, shape or form. The tornado was not stopped if it went on to destroy multiple structures and to harm multiple people's lives. You've given no actual proof, whatsoever, so your statement that "you will never have enough proof" is not applicable...and it all just shows that you don't actually possess any concrete, incontrovertible proof of anything that you are saying, here. And, you're entirely incorrect about the origins of "Allah", as well. Sadly, you don't seem to understand much about the origins of even your own system of beliefs. |

Quoting: christian HOWEVER: Only a FOLLOWER of CHRIST will see the POWER of GOD in Jesus name during a Disaster of Biblical Porportions.. Buddah never stopped a Tornado Allah never calmed the Storm Pagan Deities never built a Throne to GOD.... Prove it. Seriously, prove -- using conclusive facts, data and evidence -- that the "God" figure that you worship actually stopped a tornado. (Obviously, your "God" did not stop this storm, as proven by the statewide trail of destruction, death and chaos.) Also, please prove that neither Buddha nor Allah ever stopped a storm. (Though, you should probably be aware that "Allah" is simply another name for the Abrahamic God figure -- in other words, the same "God" that is mentioned in the Bible. And, Buddha was revered as a prophet and a sage, so his designation is different than what you are implying. It's a bit frightening that you seem to know so little, isn't it?) Now, I'll be waiting for your proof and evidence, so that I may analyze it further. I just gave you Scripture for it I also gave you those videos... How much more proof do you want? You see you people like you will never have enough proof.... Faith does not come from PROOF... FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1, KJV) Allah is not ABBA..Alla is a Moon Pagan Deity... Scripture and videos are not evidence. Go your way and seek the Proof you need for whatever you believe or don't... I told you that FAITH in GOD is what bridges the gap between GOD and MAN... you don't want to believe it, that is your choice...So be it.. Peace... You will not be able to turn a tornado... Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Luke 17:6 And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. -- See, you people who are 'scientists' do not grant that we live in a quantum flux... a matrix... a Schrodinger's box in which the cat is both living and dead depending on if you look or don't. Quantum physics grants that all of reality is interconnected... this is far beyond your mere Aristotelian science. Faith is not magic. Faith is not luck. Faith is not circumstantial happenstance or chance. Faith is believing that God will do exactly what He says He will do. You will note that in the verses above Jesus, Himself, Who is the Creator of Reality, says if you have faith you can say to a tree, move!, and it will be. How then more easy is it to tell a tornado to go away? -- Matthew 8:13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour. -- So, then, scientist, I challenge you. Bend reality with your faith. You have been provided at least 3 videos in which Christians have believed/prayed a tornado away. -- John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. John 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: -- You will hear the prayers of the Christians asking in the Name of Jesus to have the tornado stopped or redirected. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50148086 You will hear the prayers of the Christians asking in the Name of Jesus to have the tornado stopped or redirected. So shall it be; so it was. I can confirm to you, from speaking to people who were actually there, that many Christians were, indeed, praying to God to spare their homes and to make the tornadoes stop. However, the tornadoes did not stop, and many of these people (who were praying, as they hid from the storms) lost their homes, all of their possessions and/or sustained physical injuries to their bodies. Thus, your statement ("so it was") is completely false. That is most definitely not how it was, at all. And, if you weren't actually there, or if you have not directly spoken to anyone that was, you have no right to say otherwise. People are suffering, right now; spreading falsehoods does not help their plight or benefit anyone. |

Also, the fact that you continue to misspell "Buddha" over and over again shows that you have no interest in actually attaining knowledge or in trying to become educated on matters. You are choosing to remain ignorant on subjects pertaining to Christianity and systems of thought & belief; thus, there truly is no point in trying to direct you towards the truth.
