Going into a deep meditative state, via prayer, chanting or meditation, will provide this state of inner calm -- regardless of to whom one is praying to, or what one is thinking or saying. One absolutely does need to be a Christian to experience this effect.

More importantly, though, OP, people died and many Christians lost their homes, and everything that they had. I just spoke with one of my friends in the Midwest (who happens to be a Christian, by the way), and he said that the suffering of his extended family & his neighbors is profound, and that they're horrified by the vast scale of the devastation in their county. But, you're implying that "Jesus" basically picked and chose which Christians to save, and left the rest to suffer?

My friend and his family WERE praying (to the same God figure that you worship), and they're goodhearted, kind people, yet their neighborhood was not spared. You honestly believe that your God intentionally "saved" one street, but callously & monstrously allowed all of the other people who believed in him to suffer?

Is that really what you believe? And, how could you even worship an entity that would do such a thing -- who would haphazardly pick and chose who deserved to suffer?

Threads like this are so incredibly sick and such a slap in the face to those who have already been victimized enough by these storms. How on earth do you not see that? Where is your compassion?

It is threads like these that turn people away from Christianity, because, if you're so utterly blind and cold-hearted about the suffering of your fellow humans, how can one take anything that you say about a "loving God" seriously? If you honestly believe that you've been gifted with compassion and discernment...perhaps you should actually try to use it, instead of constantly using other people's pain to push your own personal religious agenda.

If a tornado rips through a town that is filled with religious people do the survivors calling on Jesus prove that he is real? Do all the dead people who called on Jesus prove that he is not real?

(Though, you should probably be aware that "Allah" is simply another name for the Abrahamic God figure -- in other words, the same "God" that is mentioned in the Bible. And, Buddha was revered as a prophet and a sage, so his designation is different than what you are implying.

Scripture and videos are not evidence. Evidence would include raw meteorological or GPS data, or the like.

(For instance, I could not quote a paragraph from the "Harry Potter" novels and then offer it to you as "factual evidence" of anything involving events in the real world, nor would showing you some YouTube videos of one person's wholly random experience count as adequate, universal proof.)

Moreover, there are videos posted that show the utter devastation of that very same tornado, in other parts of the county. These videos would seem to "prove" that your "God" most certainly did not stop the storm, in any way, shape or form. The tornado was not stopped if it went on to destroy multiple structures and to harm multiple people's lives.

You've given no actual proof, whatsoever, so your statement that "you will never have enough proof" is not applicable...and it all just shows that you don't actually possess any concrete, incontrovertible proof of anything that you are saying, here.

You will note that in the verses above Jesus, Himself, Who is the Creator of Reality, says if you have faith you can say to a tree, move!, and it will be. How then more easy is it to tell a tornado to go away?

There is a substantial amount of evidence that provides credence to the claim that Jesus was nursed back to health, at one point, in a Buddhist monastery...yet you speak ill of and insult the followers of Buddhism. How can you expect to educate and inform others when you, yourself, seem so very, very uneducated about many matters pertaining to religion and the Bible?

I can confirm to you, from speaking to people who were actually there, that many Christians were, indeed, praying to God to spare their homes and to make the tornadoes stop.

However, the tornadoes did not stop, and many of these people (who were praying, as they hid from the storms) lost their homes, all of their possessions and/or sustained physical injuries to their bodies.

Thus, your statement ("so it was") is completely false. That is most definitely not how it was, at all. And, if you weren't actually there, or if you have not directly spoken to anyone that was, you have no right to say otherwise.

People are suffering, right now; spreading falsehoods does not help their plight or benefit anyone.

You obviously did not read the article.
