Doom is my second choice- this is what makes me a doomtard anyone else?
I have been thinking a lot about what makes doom so attractive- and there is no denying there is something attractive about it.

Many have commented that doomtards have lousy lives, failed relationships, unemployment etc etc. But that is not my case at all.
I live on a farm, have no mortgage, am healthy and work doing work I love. Good family etc etc. I have a pretty good life, but doom still attracts me- so why?

As I mentioned in the title doom is my second choice- my first choice would be to go up in the rapture with Jesus - but since there are so many differing opinions on this and no man knows the day or the hour, what if that never happens for me?

Well doom may be the booby prize but it is still my second choice and an alternative preferable to this mundane life that just watches our world devolve every day into new lower levels of evil, corruption, crookedness and wickedness.

There is no hope for this world other than Jesus and if He doesn't come soon I will take doom- this world is not going to get better only worse. The perverse are emboldened, the politicians more corrupt, the banksters and modern day money changers more crooked.

I would gladly watch my life extinguished in an extrinction level event to have the satisfaction of knowing the wicked were also snuffed out and the evil purged from the world.

I would eat the bark off the trees if the dollar collapsed and I had too and would be happy to do so if I knew the greedy and crooked of this world were jumping off thier skyscrapers because they lost all thier ill gotten gain.

I am looking for an escape off this lousy rock by rapture or by doom but not because my life is so lousy but because life in general is getting darker and darker - does anyone feel the same way?

Same thing for me. I'm 28 and have never been unemployed but I believe the reason I urn for it to happen is because all of the craziness and the assholes going on in the world. I waited tables for like 5 years and people were just rediculous which is what made me fins another job and nor much has changed. People are rude and changing rapidly for the worst. That is why it appeals to me. Maybe a great change or doom would change the people in a positive manner.
The end is always near!

Hi mrst, I understand where you are coming from because I have been in some pretty messed up spots too- there was a time I lost my job and home and went homeless for a few months with my wife and kids.

Like I said, fortunately that is not my life now- but back then when all that happened I at least had hope, that if I worked hard and played by the rules I could turn it all around and I did. I don't know if I could do the same today because I have no hope for this world anymore except for first and foremost Jesus return and or rapture and barring that in my lifetime- doom!

Here is hoping things get a little better for you in the meantime.
mrst

Thanks. Things seem pretty bleak. For me personally and the world in general. I mean wtf??? Are things out there about to blow or do I just spend too much time on glp? Getting a job and sorting ones life out is damn near impossible when you believe the world is going to end any day now.

mrst, you are not imagining it or spending too much time on glp- the world is about to blow. Some of it is hyped but some has never happened before in history- at least that is what I think. I know how you feel though- I start many projects that I wonder, why bother? I may not get to finish them anyway. All I can say is we have to manage our lives in such a way that we prepare for both possibilities - that there may not be a tomorrow - or that we may encounter several more years. I know it sounds crazy but it seems the only wise and prudent thing to do; we as humans are natural survivors and we adapt to many awful conditions- we may just have to endure many more awful years. Or it could be over tomorrow? Therefore we should do what we can do for our lives today, make sure no one who we care about ever questions our love and concern while we have a today, and hope for a rescue by Jesus or at least a good doom before things get much worse.
