Black Unit (OP) User ID: 33194738 United States 12/11/2013 09:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't know about you guys, but i just can't make myself spend more than like 50 - 60 on a folding knife. I'd love to have a zero tolerance, or one of the higher end Spydercos, but I'm not spending $150-200 on a folder, just doesn't seem worth it to me. If I'm spending that kind of cash I'm getting something for my money. Like the Cold Steel kukri [link to www.amazon.com] Or the Esee Junglas [link to www.amazon.com] I have both and yes they do live up to the hype. Perfect blades for camping, shelter building, batoning. |

I think this would be ideal, especially if you were surrounded, or facing multiple targets. |
Face Palmer User ID: 51385860 Germany 12/11/2013 09:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I got a Glock like the Austrian army "The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title." Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |

Once I touch a Folder/Pocket knife the hinge gets busted Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51116886 I love fixed blades, but at work when i need to have aknife on me a folder is practical. Of course that doesn't stop me from always having a fixed blade in my bag. I like the Sog Seal pup. It's what's mounted on my tac vest, but i carry the Rat 5 every day. It's heavy, but i got a kydex sheath made and madified it with paracord. On the sheath is a fire starter, and a diamond rod. |
Black Unit (OP) User ID: 33194738 United States 12/11/2013 09:41 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Nice thread OP! I believe the knife and ability to use it in the coming decades will be crucial in the coming decades for people living in cities. Quoting: Gnostic Warrior The bolt on these folders is VERY important because this is usually the first thing to give out and when you are in a life or death situation, the last thing you want is your knife to break. Yeah that's what sold me on the folder i just bought. the pivot bolt is huge for that very reason. You are correct. i remember Wiseman saying three things to always have on your person, a knife, a way to start a fire and a light. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 50860166 United States 12/11/2013 09:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Can you recommend something for my situation? I would like to buy a fixed blade knife that comes with a non-leather sheath that I can attach to something other than a belt. Keeping it in a pocket is often not an option because I get around by bicycle and the constant leg motion will probably dislodge the knife. I have seen the knife sheaths held by a cord to be worn around the neck but that may be uncomfortable and hard to conceal in the summer. Am I missing any other options? |

If you get a subscription to panteo productions online you can stream all of his and many many others content, that include handgun to long rifle tactics ect. James Williams is nothing short of a genius in my mind when it comes to knife fighting. He has been teachibg since '75 and trined with samaris (spl?). His tactics seem Aikido in nature, but is done in a way to eliminate aggressor as quickly as possible, without the showman ship of fighting we have grown accustomed to expect. The method james williams teaches is somethjng that can be translated to various weapons and JUST MAKES SENSE. |
