To live as a man and to have the human experience,Jesus needed to experience the WHOLE range of human emotions. This was Jesus purpose.
IF Jesus shortened the experience through fear or pain,He failed in his mission and failed mankind.
The argument that "He was willing but decided not to" makes any sacrifice of no value.I'm willing to chop my leg off for a $1000000, as long as I don't have to actually do it.

Jesus gave His life as a ransom for many(Mark 10:45) as He came to seek and save that which was lost(Luke 19:10).
NOBODY murdered Jesus or took His life. Jesus WILLINGLY gave His life to pay the sin debt of the world(John 10:17,18) and His sacrifices was accepted by the Father or He wouldn't have risen from the dead. He stayed on the cross until atonement was paid and then I believe the Holy Spirit told Him He could die.
NOTHING catches God by surprise. This sacrifice was planned by the Godhead BEFORE man was created(Acts 2:23; 2Timothy 1:9).

Jesus was a yellow belly. He could have stayed and had the full 3D effect of life on this planet but as soon as the pain arrived, he killed himself.
Even though Jesus knew he was going to heaven, he still left this planet early. Why? By leaving and committing suicide, no sins were forgiven and Jesus was thrown into Hell. I prefer to worship the trees and the spirits of this planet,they are more real than the fake savior that Xtians follow.
