(SOLVED: Frontal Airplane Lights) [DEAD TOPIC] As per the info in post... Quoting: Shenzon Thread: Strange Objects In The North Western Sky...? ------------ So, the OP in that thread posted the following pic of 2 "strange objects" in the sky. [link to img19.imageshack.us] As per the location of NC, 5:30 pm EST, facing NW we get this... [link to i.imgur.com] Exif data checks out, as do the OP and others in the thread that confirmed seeing the lights as non-moving objects. There is even a pasture and hill side to the NW of the Exif coordinates as shown in pic. No stars or even venus can be seen in the photo. ISON is the only thing in that direction that makes sense. Very near the original path if not exact. Can anyone confirm/debunk this??? ------------ ...Will update with more specifics if appropriate... and what was the original path? |

(SOLVED: Frontal Airplane Lights) [DEAD TOPIC] That's a complex question. The simple answer is see this to see where it "would have been" now.... (SOLVED: Frontal Airplane Lights) [DEAD TOPIC] Airplanes move. OP stated "We couldn't really see them moving" & "They definitely weren't planes or stars." Another poster who saw them said "I watched for about 15 minutes to see if it was possibly planes but they did not move." You might be right but the evidence seems to say your not at this time. |

(SOLVED: Frontal Airplane Lights) [DEAD TOPIC] Where I live in Texas according to Stellarium, ISON is NNE right at the horizon. It will be up a little higher so I may can see it soon. It's below the big dipper. So if it stayed on the same projected path and all these things are still tracking it (Stellarium, SkyLive) why aren't we being flooded with pics? [link to theskylive.com] [link to www.cometison2013.co.uk] Looking at Stellarium, in NC it would be a little higher in the sky than where I live but still NNE not NW. |

Quoting: ~~**lisa**~~ [link to theskylive.com] [link to www.cometison2013.co.uk] :Big Smile Smiley: Unknown. 3 possibilities. 1- It's not Ison. 2- The reflection of the sun shined just so as to show debris brighter than usual in the photo. 3- No one was looking for it anymore OR is looking for it but too closely, not a wide enough view. Whatever the case, we'll find out soon enough won't we. |

Look in the area below the second star of the handle end (Mizar) about an equal length to the big dipper in about an hour. |

(SOLVED: Frontal Airplane Lights) [DEAD TOPIC] I saw three of these in Houston at approximately 10pm last night. I also suspected them to be planes but one minute they were still and the next they drifted off. Lights seemed similar to stars the movement seemed similar to a chopper. Not too sure about directed coordinates. Last night I saw a streaks in the sky similar to a missile without an explosion that vanished seconds later. A lot of weird things are showing up this week in the sky in NW Houston. Drones included. |
