We have bobcats and lynx here in Thunder Bay, ON and unless he "hit it twice", as he says, with an AXE, disabling it and then throttled it, that lynx would turn on him in a flash and make a terrible mess of him and likely would have killed HIM - assuming of course the lynx was an otherwise healthy animal.
