Collies are. Lassie is not a popular part of popular culture any more, and so the presence of these dogs is less. Liberalism is totalitarianism with a human face – Thomas Sowell |

Personally I prefer rescued mutts, and I think it's kind of funny they now make certain mutts (labradoodles, puggles) fashionable and sell them for a high price. I could maybe make a fancy name for my dog and have $3,000 puppies but don't like the idea of overbreeding. Boxgle? Beaxer? (boxer/beagle) |

beeches (OP) User ID: 28167778 United States 01/03/2014 04:42 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Shiba Inu, you see, is very challenging to raise and train. A bold, high-spirited "big dog in a small body," he must always be kept on-leash, for he has a high prey drive and quick reflexes and will pursue anything that moves. He can outrun and outdodge any human....and frequently does, for he has an independent spirit. Shibas are true runners. Shiba Inu owners need secure fences. Indeed, if you plan of leaving your Shiba outdoors unsupervised, he really should have a covered run (as in chainlink all across the top) if you want to be sure of finding him in the yard where you left him. Otherwise, his ingenuity and agile jumping/climbing/digging skills may send him over or under an ordinary fence. And once he's loose, he's gone. snip from the link in my last post above - wow, sounds like you DO have your hands full! Ours are a couple of OOPS! puppies. Thankfully they're more mastiff than lab, otherwise I would be pulling my eyebrows out. I notice not as many chihuahuas (I have one), not as many spaniels either. |

Quoting: Viva la Pigeon My husband lived in Eastern Kentucky for a while and he says those dogs are worth their weight in gold to many people. black and tan dogs are great. Had a part Dachshund with that coloration once. What is a treeing walker? They are a little smaller and something about the way they hunt makes them more desirable. They look more like a red bone coon hound than a black and tan (smaller ears). We love our black and tan, he's a dude! |

Well my brittany is the first dog I have ever had as an inside dog and I fell inlove hard ! He is so smart and sweet. He does get depressed when we can't spend a lot of time outside. Labs are nightmares my neighbour's one has pica he eats weird stuff uncontrollably he just had a sock removed from his intestine in a £500 op! I'm a GSD man myself but at the moment a chewie, shih tsu and a heinz 57 cross she's the only one without health problems. I keep seeing Malinois, Huskies and Staffies round my way but I agree with the OP I'm seeing less of those 5 breeds. Temper Temper |
