Re: Retail Tsunami: 16 Major Chains Closing More Stores
I live in Atlanta. It's literally more efficient and less of a headache to order from retailer websites and have it delivered than going 5 miles to a store, especially between 8am-10am and 4pm-7pm. You leave at the wrong time and it can take you over an hour to drive 5 miles in the burbs.

So, in my opinion, if the economy can sustain itself without brick and mortar stores good. Bring it on. Our country, and the world, is just now beginning to feel the transition of our society. Just like when cars were destroying the horse whip and carriage industry, our old models of business are dying off.

I dislike the guy but this is not his doing. He is a puppet and this has been going on for a loooong time. Plans of our destruction was not written by his pen, know what I'm saying..

No it wasn't an absolute that this would have happened no matter who was elected. Ron Paul would have had the economy turned around by now. We had a choice.
I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you.

I just found an article saying that toys r us is expanding!!

...in China.

"Toys “R” Us’ most significant expansion plans for 2013 are in China, where it has already begun operating several of 22 new stores scheduled to open this year. By yearend, the company plans to operate 51 stores in 27 cities throughout China." [link to www.chainstoreage.com]

People will usually go into debt to make sure thier kids have all the plastic crap they need to feel loved, so this is definately a bad sign. IMHO, It means they don't have the money or the credit.

Look at Cube people are driving cars from the 50's. Living in squaller. Yet Castro and company are some of the wealthiest people in the world. They live like kings... does it remind you of the Obama's? 18 mllion on vacations. Constant parties of huge costs to tax payers. Yet many of us can't figure out how we can keep the lights on...

Its that communist upbringing we are told to share its for the common good.. it takes a village your kids are OUR kids... blah blah blah...

Our country is crumbling we have morons running the show.. communist morons who will never ever wonder where their next meal is coming from .. I always have a hard time accepting people who think OBama is so wonderful yet he has turned his back on his own family.. his brother George in Kenya living in a shanty.. yet Obama is wonderful..

Everyone buys on china-bay these days. The Chinese are raking it up. Americans cannot sell their own gizmos on ebay because there are 100 other guys selling his same stuff 1/2 the prices.

I will be glad to see it happen. These stores are running their paying customers away with their shitty service and people skills.

I just got followed around THE ENTIRE Target by loss prevention so I'm a little ticked. I was coupon shopping. Who steals things with two handfuls of freaking coupons?

I USED to spend a lot of money there but I'll leave them and their hundreds of Indian immigrants clogging the isles and not actually buying anything to have fun together.

MAYBE THIS...falls into play some how.

There are 8 levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.

1) Healthcare –Control healthcare and you control the people
hiding
2) Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.

3) Debt –Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.

4) Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the Government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5) Welfare – Take control of every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing, and Income)

6) Education – Take control of what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.
hiding

7) Religion – Remove the belief in the God from the Government and schools.

8) Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent and it will be easier to take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Saul David Alinsky (January 30, 1909 – June 12, 1972) was an American community organizer and writer. He is generally considered to be the founder of modern community organizing. He is often noted for his book
Rules for Radicals. From that book here are Saul's thoughts on how to create a social state:

Re: Retail Tsunami: 16 Major Chains Closing More Stores
I get the retail stores thing -- the economy sucks, their service sucks, online is cheaper and more convenient, but the supermarkets?

Especially surprising is Ralph's in SoCal. Most of us have money here and other than the Farmer's Market and Co-op, that's where I (and tons of others) do household and grocery shopping. The nearest Walmart to here is 10 miles and I have never stepped foot in it.

Ralph's should be expanding, not shrinking. People have to eat. If they can't survive in SoCal, we are fucked.

Don't give Obama that much credit , he's a yes man to the bankers, now the bankers......yea they get the credit.

You're wasting your breath on most of the tards here at GLP...they only care about hating on Obammy...the true "Enlightened" ones know EXACTLY where the blame lies
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3674214

Right.... that's why welfare programs have expanded 30% under Obozo. Who's enlightened? The politicians have all been bought, the banks and GM should have been allowed to fail.
