Did you know that Rihanna is the name in Barbados for the Egyptian Goddess Isis? The singer Rihanna's real name is Robyn Fenty and not the stage name she uses as a performer. She is a deadringer for a girl friend I had many years ago and she recently got a tattoo of the goddess Isis on her chest.

A couple of facts.

1) Most of the worship that occurred before Vatican showed up after the Roman Empire fell was Goddess worship. God was seen as female by ancient people because of the nurturing and generative (birth giving) aspect of Female. Isis is the positive female Goddess, later followed by other Goddess names like Istar or Demeter. But they all represent the same archtype Goddess, female, nurturing, birthgiving, maternal.

2) Goddesses like Isis and Tara, the Tantric origin Goddess are are "good" Goddesses. They are always ready to help, and provide for people, and provide for them. They also have a alter ego "bad" Goddess where they become Karmic retribution Goddess for those who violate cosmic law (Natural Law). Kali is an example of such a Goddess, but it is important to remember that the "good" and "bad" Goddesses are one and the same, sort of like Jekyll and Hyde.

3) The Vatican absolutely HATED the Goddess worship and did all it could to subvert it and undermine it, those who partook in Goddess worship were persecuted under the Inquisition. One of the things they did was take the Goddess name and made connotative to something negative. For example Goddess Luna became the prefix for lunacy, or lunatic. And "terror" comes from Tara, the kind Tantric Goddess. Remember how GW Bush used to say "The war on Terra" well, he was using green language alluding to Tara which was a joke on the public.

4) The mockery of "GOOD" Goddess worship continues to with naming a terrorist group after them, hence that is why the killers rampaging through Iraq are called Isis, it is intended to plant in the collective subconscious a negative connotation between positve aspects of the Female Goddess and violence carried out by terrorist groups.
