And as the reservoir continues to ebb, water managers from across the region have begun negotiating steps they could take jointly to avert a serious shortage that would trigger cutbacks in water deliveries to Arizona, Nevada and Mexico." As a result, each of the power plant's 17 generating units with a nameplate capacity of 2,074 megawatts was derated in June; the current capacity is 1,592 MW and is projected to decline later this year. So the dam mostly provides power only during periods of peak demand, according to Mark Cook, engineering group supervisor at the Hoover Dam. "We pretty much shut down at night." Between the hotels that wash hundreds of thousands of sheets each day and visitors and residents flushing toilets, taking showers, etc combined with the large pools and decorative fountains like the one at the Bellagio, much water is used and wasted each day. Trying to bring GLP together. I'm still collecting flags from posters all over the world. Thread: Official "Flags from around the world" thread. Hoping to get posts from all countries that frequent GLP. :gratefulsig: |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 58380056 United States 07/16/2014 08:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | nothing to see here, not to mention only one of the two intake pumps is working which supplies water to the 2 million people who live here. These pumps are also known to fail from time to time, which is why there is two of them, well you can guess what happened to the intake of one of the pumps, its on dry earth now, and a new pump isn't scheduled to be complete for quite some years from now... Vegas is a vortex, a valley designed to suck money back into the fed who control this state... I was born here, but now Ive been thinking the weather in Seattle and colorado isn't so bad! |

That's have California get there grubby dick beaters out of our lake and open some desalination plans so they can drink there own water. Quoting: Giohater this is true, L.A, , getting lake mead water things are gonna get ugly when the restrictions get going |

I don't think you should belittle las vegas's plight over a little fountain that also recycles its own water. California just needs to get there own water. Gio |
