I've always felt that a person is of more use alive than dead, even if the person became a martyr. Of course, that would require the living person be smart enough to know how to influence things.

It was not racial separation, it was religious separation, you could be adopted into the Jewish faith, but you had to leave idols behind. Had nothing to do with color Jews were different tribes and not all the same color because of marriages.
