Smell of Sulphur in The Air
Today I was at someone else's house. Their dog was busy chewing her favorite Nylabone. She all of a sudden stopped and started sniffing the air vigorously. I didn't smell anything at first, then the house filled with the smell of sulphur coming through the air conditioner. I went outside and the smell of sulphur was just blowing through the air. This really has me wondering. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico and have for 59 years. This is the first time I have ever smelled that in the air.

Re: Smell of Sulphur in The Air
Sounds like Hydrogen Sulfide gas...has been in a lot of threads lately with the rotten egg smell and no gas leaks found. Could also be what has been killing off so many people's gardens.

We noticed it last weekend. Shortly after that my garden started going down hill. I think it is coming from below personally but have no proof whatsoever. hf

I smelled sulphur in the water in Westchester County, NY last week. It smelled just like Reykjavik water, but not quite as intense.

First thing my son said was, "that's not good, that's a precursor to earthquake or volcanic activity." I can't help but wonder now.

Had the same thing happen at our house, smelled like rotten eggs coming from the front yard under the concrete. I looked under the crawl space to see if any kind of animal had died in there. I thought it was a gas leak because the smell was coming from underneath the ground where the natural gas line from the meter runs through. I concluded it was coming from underneath the ground but the smell is gone now.

You're like 50 miles south of the Valles Caldera. Let your dog out and see which way he runs. If he runs south it might be a bad sign.

I got on here to mention something unusual thinking someone else might have experienced the same thing here. Instead, aside from a few decent comments, rude and idiotic people throw their mean remarks around. I'm outta here, I can't deal with the meanness that seems to dominate this site.
