Bible question: Were the Ten Commandments written first on stone or in the book?
The bible says that the Ten Commandments were written in stone by God. And it says that Moses wrote them down too, in his book of the law.

So bible pop quiz! According to the bible, which was written first:

A) the stone tablets written by God

or

B) the version that Moses wrote down in the book of the law?

Moses wrote them in the sand originally, forgot most of them, so he just made it all up on the fly.

Re: Bible question: Were the Ten Commandments written first on stone or in the book?
How could Mose write them down without knowing them?
So God handed Mose the stone tablets first.
"The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title."

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

God told Moses what to write, (Exodus 24:2-4).

So Moses wrote it in the book, (Exodus 24:7-8)

And after that God told Moses to go up the mountain to get the stone tablets, (Exodus 24:12).

This is in no way related to the 10 Commandments?

Its about what God said before in Exodus 23 mainly

Keep going back to Exodus 20, that's the 10 Commandments. So Moses wrote in his book, the 10 Commandments, then the other laws in Exodus 20-23.

Consider the cuneiform tablets pre Moses, also how the word 'book' is translated, the word Bible itself is a derivative.

The alleged commandments weren't written in Hebrew or English ya know? :)

By the way the first set of tablets were smashed by Moshe during the golden calf incident, the second set was also written by God, but Moshe got the second set of tablets ready.
Historical note, Moshe also did an 2 x 40 day waterless food-less fast during this time, feeding exclusively on the presence and glory of the Lord/YHVH(ie man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of YHVH etc), he ended up glowing from his face, frightened everyone at the time, so he wore a veil afterwards.(ie he was a living conductor/reflector of the Glory of YHVH/God)

Being as how the Lord/YHVH wrote it, that is a fairly clear authorization of proto-hebrew, of which there are numerous examples.
Some one has those tablets and the other stuff in the ark of the covenant, i wonder who and where?
Thank You lord to reveal the whereabouts amen YAHshua/Jesus

Both your answers are incorrect. The law was written in heaven first, and is kept by the heavenly angels. This requires some study, but allow me to make it short and sweet.

Revelation 11:19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

What two names for the 10 Commandments? Tables of Testimony, and Tables of the Covenant. Testament and Covenant are two words that can be used interchangeably.

Hebrews 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Christ is the mediator of the New Testament, that is, the New Covenant. The words are interchangeable. So, in heaven we can see the ark in God's temple. This is the Great Original ark in heaven.

Okay, what three things were placed inside the Ark? The 10 Commandments, The manna, and Aaron's rod that budded. Of those three, which of these does the Ark derive it's name from? The 10 Commandments. It was not called Ark of the Testimony or Ark of the Covenant until the tables of the testimony/covenant (10 Commandments) were to be placed inside of it. It's sacred duty is to enshrine God's holy law. In other words, the Ark is the sacred resting place for the 10 Commandments. Those holy precepts are kept by even angels, as seen in Psalm 103.

Psalms 103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

No ark has ever been found. No Moses tablets ever found. The King David/Solomon era there are only traces of a small village. No grand kingdom of any kind. Mythological characters and objects will never turn up existing in the real world.

Hammurabi's code, which has been found unlike the biblical version which copied it, was written on stone.

 Quoting: Raeneske

The copy ark on earth had those things placed inside it, as we read earlier in Hebrews 9:

The first covenant had rules for worship and a place made for worship as well.
(Hebrews 9:1)

In it were the gold altar for the burning of incense and the Covenant Box all covered with gold and containing the gold jar with the manna in it, Aaron's stick that had sprouted leaves, and the two stone tablets with the commandments written on them.
(Hebrews 9:4)

In Hebrews chapter 8 we read:

By speaking of a new covenant, God has made the first one old; and anything that becomes old and worn out will soon disappear.
(Hebrews 8:13)

The bible does not say what the real ark in heaven contains. Ellen G White says she went to heaven and saw the stone tablets in the ark in heaven. But it's not in the bible.
