I used to teach classes in small unit tactics -- don't ever underestimate a "support" Soldier. God I fucking hated FTX's lol. Carrying a real rack of all your shit for a week in the sticks...shit was reeeeeeeeetarded lol. Tell me about it, lol -- and just think, some grunts *want* to do that ! Me, I'd rather just jump in near the objective, instead of humping it like a leg ... |

They made me an MP when I returned stateside. Had a break joined the reserves in 85 and ets'd in '09. Because of an injury I was non deployable but because of that MP mos I was locked in on the GWOT till the duration after 911. After the end of the cold war I was assigned to a Training Support BN and after 03 We spent our time activating and training other a guard/reserve soldiers for deployment. It was a suck mission but at my age it was an honor to serve. Last Edited by CMcC on 11/11/2014 04:07 PM Fear God and Dread Nought. |

This sounds like a classic case of homophobia only to find out you are gay and didn't want to admit it, you really are ashamed of your mos. I'm pretty sure you spout this crap because deep down when you are alone you are truly ashamed and embarrassed that you aren't a real combat vet. One that has risen to the challenge of closing with and destroying the enemy. It's to bad you never had the ability or chance to give the enemy the maximum opportunity to give his life for their cause. Accept your place in the world. Let me tell you though...the army nowdays is all about a pretty face and a perfect storyboard. No camaraderie as you had back in the day. Sergeants sleeping with soldiers, officers sleeping with soldiers and service members using each other's families to black mail one another lol. It's turned into a socialist's army. PS: Oh and entire fag units making fag videos and distributing them. I hear in leavenworth, once a week those fags are reminded of their crime. Next Monday after retiring start up as a contractor for the USCG 91-present. Back to work tomorrow for the CG. All missions were SAR and the Caribbean "drug war". Couple scary firefights with better armed than us drug ships but the USN launched nearby and took care of it. Stuff you NEVER heard about in the papers. SAR is always my proudest accomplishments, to pull kids, parents, pets out of the water from certain death. |

Paratroopers brag -- it's part of being Airborne. Of course, those who have nothing to brag about always whine "but real badasses won't talk about it." Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5772093 And if you were Army in Vietnam you were wearing a division patch on both shoulders when in uniform. Just like me (the patch on the right shoulder denoting wartime service in that division/unit, in my case wartime service in the 82nd Airborne Division during Operation Just Cause). That's the mark of a Veteran. I'll bet OP didn't even have anything above his "US Army" tag -- just met the minimum standards. As well as D.S. with 5th group. I was an 18-B/E and CO. NBC NCO. If you served you are good to go with me.. any branch, any time. and the shitbag that is demeaning others service... you would not have lasted a minute in an airborne unit. We would have beaten your ass right out. "All the way!" DOL |
