If This Reality is Matrix - We are Avatars, Not A.I. Programs
If we are A.I. programs in pure sense, we wouldn't be able to understand emotions and have strong logic thinking.

As avatars, we are able to experience and express emotions.. from our original self that are plugged in and sleeping like the Matrix movie.

Emotions and certain knowledge or understanding of that are something that being an A.I. program surely can't experience and express.

This body I'm occupying is a virtual character but the signal to control it is from my actual self that is sleeping and plugged in somewhere in the actual real reality.

The question is whether our actual bodies are human or not? What if we are actually one of alien species plugged in and living as ourselves in this matrix reality, and forgot our real and original identify? Interesting thought.

I'm still debating myself with all of that but wanted to see if any of you guys want to comment, provide insights, or something like that.

What if the emotion feelings and consciousness are actually illusion?

If so, strong A.I. programs could be realized.. then consider the possibility that we could be A.I. programs, not avatars (only if some of us believe this reality to be matrix).

Nope.

this from another thread:

Q: Bottom line..."Why do I have to pay to be alive???

A: THat's the crux..
once you have to pay to be alive - your fcked.
AND that caused you to plug into the matrix.

There is no reason to assume an AI wouldn't experience emotion.

After all, what is emotion but the symbolizing of certain rational states.

If I calculate that it is probable that I will be struck by a car in the next 30 seconds I will experience a number of physiological and mental symptoms that is described as fear. That is not unintelligent, or illogical. And it is something a good AI would also experience, as it utilizes maximum computational and other faculties to avoid a likely death.

Again let's try love -- we experience an increase in contentment and general happiness as the result of becoming infatuated, or attached to, a companion who has been deemed to likely make one's life better in any number of ways (sexual pleasure, conversation, intimacy, company, support, etc.)

In fact, every emotion can be understood as a 'packaging' of various very rational thoughts that the mind processes on a subconscious level.

The strongest evidence against AI behavior, however, is the irrational behavior of people which is extremely widespread. Religious belief, failure to act according to logical decisions, etc., etc. Then again, if the individual 'sub AI units' (people) are less important than the overall AI (earth, humanity, etc.) then this would perhaps make sense.

When we sleep and have a dream, we talk to people and have adventures. Those people are just our own mind talking to itself.
Life is God's dream and we are God talking to himself.
That is why we have the Golden Rule - Do to others as you would have done to yourself.
When you do harm to others, you do harm to God.
You want to make dreams come true for God to enjoy and try not to make nightmares come true.
In our own dreams we can die and just wake up.
When awake, life is as real as a heart attack. God wakes up from his dream when we die.
This is a simplified answer. There is a lot more.
