I would not get too excited as it will likely go back negative as the sun turns. This is the trend we are seeing, because the magnetic field looks like this. Quoting: UVVU We had some large earthquakes following the geomagnetic storms last night. Stay safe. They have moved the kp index down to 3, but the forecast shows it going back up. 3 hour outlook is 4.7, so we are still in a geomagnetic storm watch. [link to solarham.net] |

It's down to 550 and the plasma temp is starting to drop. The enlil spiral shows it should be calm till about half way through the day on the 5th when we pick up our next coronal hole stream. It will not be as big as the last one was. I didn't check, but we might have a sector boundary crossing. So maybe a earthquake uptick around 12pm UTC on the 5th. I don't think we will see any geomagnetic storms unless the flaring picks up again. |

We should pick up the next coronal hole stream in 3.5 hours. I do find the number of largs earth quakes in south america disturbing, only because north america has been shaking. Still, I feel everything is going according to plan. I am just along for the ride. |
