I lived in Central Utah for 25 years, and I worked swing shifts - one night I was driving home at like midnight and almost ran over this old Native American dude laying in the middle of the road, trying to commit suicide. I almost had a fucking heart attack. I flipped around and the guy behind me came even closer to hitting him than I had - we waited there for the EMT to show up because the old guy was totally refusing to move or communicate with us in any way. I have cousins that live down in Moapa, NV (on the rez) and they told me that it happens all the time down there - the Native American elders get done with shit and just lay in the middle of the road, or on the train tracks, depending on where they live. |

Where youngsters, teens, and young adults think its fun to play a chicken like game where you lay in the middle of the road (generally on the line) at night time and see who chickens out first. That, or he simply passed out from being too drunk/too high and at 4 in the morning visibility would have been low and his ass got ran over. |

House Do you have a point of some kind for posting this? if you READ the THREAD. But its GLP. We don't expect many to read a FRESH thread, let alone one pages long No, your point isn't obvious. Unless your point is that the officer wasn't identified? Is that it? Maybe you could be forthright instead of putting people down. Maybe the thread would have better legs if that was your point and you stated it. But I'm guessing as you are being obtuse. "Everybody lies." |

Cop was distracted on cell phone and ran him over. I demand cop's cell phone records. Quoting: xout Why would you think that? Because it's plausible and should be considered instead of taking the officers word at face value, after all, he killed a person. |

Because I see distracted cops all the time on their phones and sippin' DD's coffee. Just show his phone records. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 61444874 United States 01/01/2015 05:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I live on the cape. Something like this is very unusual for that area. Chatham is a very ritzy part of the cape. I wouldn't doubt it if this had to do with a drug overdose. What most people don't realize is the cape has one of the highest rates of heroin use per capita in the country. They deal with drug overdoses on a daily basis. My bet is the kid overdosed and passed out. Regardless, it should still be investigated and the officers cell records pulled. If he wasn't paying attention and this could have been avoided then the cop should be held responsible like the rest of us would be. |

It seems strange to me that he didn't. At 4 in morning seems like not much if any traffic and officer could have swerved to avoid him unless it was a narrow road maybe. Why wouldn't the headlights pick up a large object in the road directly ahead on a possibly deserted street? I hope the family pursues it to get answers before anything can get covered up if that is what they are doing. |
