I know an Anesthesiologist who owned a surgery center in Beverly Hills. When they caught up with him for Insurance Fraud - three docs on his staff killed themselves! He was charged with fraudulent billings of over six million dollars in a two year period. Then it was increased to 7.9 million by the time he went to court.

He got off with a 2 million dollar restitution, a fine of $300k, and that was it. He sold the business to some friends who are basically doing the same shit again, and the original guy is still sitting fat, dumb, and happy on his few million stashed in offshore accounts. Of course he paid his legal team over $1.5 million but that was peanuts compared to what he made and kept!

So if you figure 7.9 minus 2.3 (restitution and fine) minus another 1.4 in legal fees, his net take (which he kept because they couldn’t prove it was him) he still has 4.2 million stashed offshore and probably in mostly gold and silver because it’s harder to ever trace.
