Rather than complain about bad threads; why not make a good one. You could talk about various forms of propaganda, why governments use propaganda, the targets of propaganda, whether propaganda is effective against the target audience and why.

The CIA uses software backdoors to gain an advantage on businesses and insider trading. Stealing tech to give to start ups that are CIA assets. Using information to get company announcements before they're public to make a killing on the various stock exchanges. And finally issuing debt to control debt markets to use in costly (For other governments.) financial wars to control foreign currency movements.
