WATER SOURCE

Water for City of Fresno customers comes from two primary sources – groundwater and surface water. For years, groundwater pumped up from an underground aquifer was the sole source of water for Fresno water customers. In 2004, treated surface water from the Surface Water Treatment Facility (SWTF) began augmenting the groundwater to create a more balanced water supply.
To replace some of the water taken from the aquifer, rainfall and stream flow naturally percolate back into the aquifer. The City also runs an aggressive recharge program to supplement the natural replenishment of the aquifer.

Well we got N.Cali emptying damns, devastated ground and aquifers outts Utah, Lake Mead hasn't had a published water level in a month, wildfires everwhere out west, and 1200+ wells in America's vegetable garden running dry OUT.

And the loathsome wall thingy out in the Pac, keeping rain off the coast.

Kinda looks like someboby don't want somone somewhere.

Southern California is a desert. Making it green was never going to be viable in the long term. But go ahead and blame Nestle. Pay no attention to the celebrities who continue to water lawns to keep them green and the golf courses they play on. Water rationing is for the peasants. Why are you not marching to their homes demanding responsibility?

I'm in E. Texas, and the state is so damn fracked out I bet none of the water is any good anymore. I can remember it very much different.

Pay $80/month for water I can't drink, it destroys my water pipes, I replace water heaters on average every 5 years or so, toilet guts frequently, and have just bought my third washing machine in the last 12 years--from rust. Clothes are white once ----when you buy them.

THAT makes good sense DF--but people say it costs too much--which makes NO sense to me. When I lived in the USVI, tha's the ONLY fresh water the island had for the longest, for the residents. Bottled water came on scene, and they sold to tourists--3 bucks a bottle back then. They made a killing.

If the VI could do it, sure as hell Cali could--and they have nuc power--makes no damn sense.

But, no, they prefer to pay for trannys to get sex changes over water.

I don't know why everybody is so suprised. I remember hearing about 20 years ago that in about 20 years, water will be so scarce, that western states may go to war over it. Well....here we are.

We all moved here knowing that this was a possibilty...and now we're acting so shocked and blaming everyone but ourselves.

If we don't figure out a way to move water cheaper than building pipelines, then all of the west will become a massive ghost town.

I was thinking...is it possible to grow clouds over the ocean, then move them east and have them release water? Controlled rain?

I wouldn't say "shocked" as much as just trying to keep it in the public eye--the long range stupidity of the state and fed's as far as water management.

Bet those fountains are still shooting sky high at the Bellagio tho!

And yes they can do that--they can also keep it away from the coast too.

They prolonged the monsoon season over Nam back then, they damn sure can shape it better now. Some say this is a "new type of military weaponry--scalar energy. I dunno--wouldn't put it past 'em. Will be lots of cheap west coast land to buy up for a farthing--then watch it "suddenly" become fertile and wet again.

I live near the rockies, it trickles down as snow run off and we have water. In the past, that's what people did, live near fresh water.

East Texas? Bad water? I'm not a dang bit surprised. East Texas has had nasty water for freaking ever. I can still remember over 40 years ago traveling through E. Texas once every year while visiting relatives. Always hated E. Texas water. It stunk and tasted bad even way back then.

It can take decades to recharge a depleted aquifer especially with prolonged dry seasons.

California used to be a desert like Nevada, it's just had abnormally wet precipitation patterns for a thousand years.
