They can't "hack" a meltdown, but they can force them to shut down for a while. The problem is, if they do this in a controlled manner, hitting multiple (or all) at once, there WILL be massive blackouts, as all alternative energy sources will have to go towards keeping those reactors from failing. It was a system that was designed to fail... eventually. I also believe this is why there has been such opposition to wind, solar, etc. |

RadChick (OP) User ID: 56069360 United States 09/21/2015 10:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Posted on my RadChick page (name edit) "OK, I'm not usually one to get super suspicious, but on the 16th, we had odd reports of short power outages, flickering/dimming lights, loss of cable/wifi/radio reception...across a huge portion of western Montana, all in the late evening. A couple of areas (about 45 miles apart) reports seeing giant purple flashes of light at the time the outages happened. No storms, no wind, and things straightened out by themselves. There was a lot of speculation all evening long on the FB post made by a local TV station. The next day, one of the power companies affected issued a statement that it was all caused by (wait for it) a beaver chewing a tree that fell on a transmission line. They say that affected the north- and westside neighborhoods of Missoula. No mention of how that affected areas up to 150 miles away. Also, just looking at the power company's FB now, and I see that the same night, they reported outages in Bozeman/Livingston (200-230 miles away from Missoula) and Havre (which is actually in the eastern part of the state). No explanations, except for lame stories about wildlife. I haven't been able to find the original post on the TV station's FB since the day after the outage. Why not admit it if it was due to the solar activity?" Quoting: RadChick Are we getting power surges (or failures) more than usual, causing these issues at Nuke Plants?? A LOT of electrical issues showing up LATE on NRC event report pages NY - AZ and almost all happened the same day = 9/16: PALO VERDE (AZ) **NOTIFICATION OF UNUSUAL EVENT DUE TO RAPID COMBUSTION OF A LOAD CENTER BREAKER aka EXPLOSION "The following event description is based on information currently available. If through subsequent reviews of this event, additional information is identified that is pertinent to this event, or alters the information being provided at this time a follow-up notification will be made via the ENS or under the reporting requirements of 10CFR50.73. "Non Class Load Center Breaker, 2ENGN-L04 failed, resulting an a visible observation of rapid combustion and resultant charring (burned area) of the breaker enclosure and housing. No physical deformation to the breaker housing or surrounding area has been identified. The rapid combustion self-extinguished immediately following the audible and visible combustion event. As a result, an Emergency Classification of HU2.2, EXPLOSION was declared due to the Load Center breaker failure and noise and visible indication observed in the field." Here are the others: Fermi is in Michigan (east coast by Windsor,Ontario - Monroe, MI, and Toledo, OH) and ONGOING. Event date 9/16 [link to www.nrc.gov] Palisades is in Michigan (west coast). Event date 9/16 "Initial investigation into the cause of the turbine trip appears to be from a DEH power supply failure." [link to www.nrc.gov] Surrey is in VA. Event date 9/16 "The cause of the under voltage matrix coincidence is currently being investigated by station personnel. All testing activities have been terminated and recovery efforts are in progress in accordance with station procedures. Current status is both Units stable at 100% with the #2 Emergency Diesel Generator carrying the 2H Emergency Bus." [link to www.nrc.gov] Palo Verde is in Arizona - this is the doozy I posted above. Event date 9/16 [link to www.nrc.gov] There were also problems at Fitzpatrick (NY) which may be electrical in nature (multi doors stuck open in secondary containment) Event date 9/18 [link to www.nrc.gov] What do you guys think? Electrictards? Suntards? Stuxnet tards? This is a bit unusual and people living around these particular areas/NPPS should be aware. We also need intel on what, if anything, was going on with the sun and power grid that day. I will keep checking the list from the NRC to see if any others get posted. Fermi is covered in detail in this thread: Thread: FERMI 2 REACTOR MICHIGAN - ONGOING EVENT - BIG PROBLEMS (Page 8) Have no fear, Spock is here!!! LLAP |
