Joshua 3 makes me question how we read the Bible and not understand God and nature. God has always used nature to show the people Who He is. My book , and those bridge walks was not for me to sell a book but used to bring us back to His book with new eyes. To remind a world that has forgot even as in this very chapter what He controls.
Nothing changed after Jesus came …
Mark 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?


Verse16 that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away at Adam, the city that is beside Zaretan. So the waters that went down into the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho. 17 Then the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the people had crossed completely over the Jordan.


This summer when Hurricane Irma came and the oceans around Florida and other places went dry , I thought about what God had done with the Red Sea and the Jordan, He reminded us.
God created earth and just like He reminded Job in 37, 38 and 39 , He has to remind us. I look at this story and wonder how we became to a people that forgot Who He is in all things especially nature...
In many ways His nature has always listened better to Him than we have and do...

How on earth we believe this in Matthew 24: 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other; and that all that takes place right now is a natural event , is why bridge walks .”

Read the Bible again seeing God in nature how He showed the people Who He was and is... The Winds and Sea obey...We only have to look at other planets to know there is nothing natural about Earth...

I went to the other church today ! I felt so peaceful, and like I had been there forever ! I will talk to the pastor at length before I join, and cut all ties with my present church.

Joshua 4 must have been a beautiful sight. Our God , our Lord of Lords loves His numbers. The number twelve is in Scriptures from the beginning to the end.
Joshua 4:2 “Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from every tribe, 3 and command them, saying, ‘Take for yourselves twelve stones from here, out of the midst of the Jordan,
Luke 2:42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast.
Luke 6:13And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles:

We serve a God of numbers. I am not sure if we pay attention to numbers in this stock market world as they did then but it was many years ago I noticed when things happened , God still uses His numbers...

Verses , 22 then you shall let your children know, saying, ‘Israel crossed over this Jordan on dry land’; 23 for the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you until you had crossed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which He dried up before us until we had crossed over, 24 that all the peoples of the earth may know the hand of the Lord , that it is might that you may fear the Lord your God forever.”

I have learned to pay attention any time God says “forever or all.” I love this passage to remind all the peoples of the earth forever , Who He is and what He uses to show us Who He is can be seen over and over .
“That you may fear the Lord your God forever.”
Fear is a word we have changed for decades. With scary movies , scary amusement rides and much more the thrill seekers get pleasure from being frightened. I feared my dad when I was young if I disobeyed.
Fearing God was never a bad thing, God commanded it over and over, forever. The Apostles even showed fear with Jesus in the boat using nature , Mark 4:41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”

Fear is a tool used to teach children to stay out of the street , not to touch a flame or stick their fingers in a light socket. God has always done the same thing to remind us to obey Him. He does things in nature no one can copy... Man has tried but failed many times...
Take time and study the word fear when God uses it, what , where and how He used it...
I have learned what it means to fear God and love that fear. It is not a fear as the world sees fear. Philippians 2:12
12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;

They did it in Joshua and in Philippians 2:12, if my dad told me to do something that was against God , I can now say I would not fear my dad and would disobey because I understand what Jesus said in Luke 12 to fear God only. The world is full of people that do not fear God and look at their lives and how they are living. Not sure what you have been taught but read the Bible as a child , let God show you what He wants. We are in a sea of confusion and people not listening to what God told us in Joshua 4 , “all peoples forever...”Jesus told us we would be in 2 Timothy 3, we are ...The Apostles learned what that fear was , Peter is just one example, when he overcame his fear of what man could do to him , who Peter was before the Cross and how he lived and died after...
Look at your fears today , ask God to remove anything that is not of Him...

We have set up a system of being a member of the Body of Christ look much the same as a membership to the Golf Course.

I disobeyed God when He told me not to join a church once , He knows things we do not no matter how pretty the sermon.

Take your time and let God direct you ask Him to let you know when and He will..love ya

I will talk with the Pastor at length before I join. I did talk to him on the phone for about an hour a few days before I went to the church. He knows I am very conservative, and active in Pro-Life activities.

Joshua 5 is a look a the Spirit world we forget.
Verse 13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, “Are You for us or for our adversaries?”

This makes me recall a time in my life, in Fort Worth when I was being trained by God and did not know it.
I was very active in a small local church , we had a Sunday lunch after service and few came. We where discussing what to do with all the left over food when a knock at the back door was heard. The Pastor's wife answered and I was ear shot away . I heard the person ask if we had anything to eat and the Pastor's wife said no and shut the door. I have shared this story before but today was another reminder of it . I ask her why she said no when we where clueless what to do with all this food. She replied their car was to nice to be hungry. Immediately this came Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

The man Joshua saw must have looked like any man, that is why I never assume all I meet in this life are human. I left that church and learned many things from that experience the greatest is to treat all as if God sent them...

This was the answer for Joshua , 14 So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.”
No ,for either side made me pause.

Last verse , 15 Then the Commander of the Lord's army said to Joshua, “Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.
Same for Moses happened and we know John explains Jesus in this way , Luke 3: 16 John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
In our busy lives we can forget the Holiness of God and Jesus our Savior. John born with the Holy Spirit , John that Baptized Jesus understood this. God is Holy and we strive to be the same, thinking about Who we bow to in prayer should be done before we do it. I was convicted some time ago to take my shoes off in morning prayer and when I forget , I get a a little nudge as a reminder Who I am about to speak to...
1 Peter 1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
I believe years of going to men for prayer has caused us to forget it was never man that we prayed to...

Funny how knee bowing is in the news so much of late , or not??? We make light of so many things in our culture , but our stories God gave us over and over reminds us how Holy God is and every knee will bow , practice now , it is a reminder Who we love and loves us...
