Hey I have witnessed this first hand. The bedrock is just below and all the tree roots are not far below the surface. Usually the strong wind blows these trees down but sometimes they get all intertwined and they can grow. The Canadian Shield covers a lot of Quebec and Ontario. My guess this is in Northern Ontario. Yes, it looks a bit unusual.

If all the viewers were "bewildered," as they said, then they aren't very bright nor observant. It takes only one watching to notice the pattern. The so-called "breathing" only happens when a gust of wind comes through. Turn up the speakers and you won't be so "bewildered."

All that is is, water, about 2+ feet under a layer of dirt/roots/sediment/follage that the "waves" make it apear as though the ground below is, "breathing".

I once saw something very similar in my backyard, though covering a smaller area. I stepped on an area of our grass that felt like stepping on a waterbed. There was an area of water underneath the ground. I could stand on it & the water would not break the surface. I'm not sure what was preventing the water from seeping up, but my brother had to use a crowbar to puncture it for the water to break the surface.

I don't know that this is the case in the video, but the movement of the ground is very similar to what I experience in my backyard.

Clearly the wind is blowing the trees at top and causing the roots to lift underneath nothing to see here except that it looks cool.

Some people operate on the "I don't know, therefore supernatural/magic/God" type of logic, if you can call it that.

But this is not the excuse in this case, the wind is blowing the trees and it's pretty obvious, for fucks sakes.

I would not be shocked at all. I say this from a true experience. Suffering from vertigo. I was told by docs that the best thing to do is break the cycle, aka sleep from high power drugs, and hopefully wake up and it has resided.Being I do not take drugs like that, and mild ones did not work, I focused during a severe episode, with no drugs or anything in my body.It was 'lose it' or drugs and hospital. Focusing on my breathing, and my surroundings was hard, considering you are mentally trying to stop the walls from LURCHING here and there, and your vision as well.Strange feeling to know in your mind your body is still, yet going every direction very quickly, and seemingly endlessly.When I finally did it..with breathing and going inside myself, which was very very hard..with tears as well.Every breath I took in the walls came in and they went out with every breath,,It was a trip so to speak.It took about half hour or so, and guess I finally fell asleep.I woke up with my heart hammering in my chest from just the one second thought that it could still be there..I moved so slowly to see, and did not feel that horrible feeling, then, like an idiot..I shook myself in strange ways to try to bring it back..just to make damm sure it was gone..I was so relieved, it were gone.Felt it many times since, sadly, but breathing and going inside myself taught me to not panic.Forest floor breathing? Not surprised at all.

Agree. Soft ground, shallow roots and wind. Those trees will likely be firewood soon, after all those roots break apart. I imagine it would be sweet to cut a creepy dirt bike trail n clean it up a bit!
