EBAY sellers beware this Christmas season.
Just a reminder! I know some of you are aware of this!

The new scam is they will buy an Iphone, playstation, or some other electronic from you.

They will search out a seller who has a return policy once they find the Iphone they want they make the purchase.

a few days later they mail it back to you and ask for a refund. little did you know they put in their broken Iphone (same model same color ect)

so unless you have the serial numbers to your item in the auction pics ebay has no way to prove what was sold and what was sent back.

and you are gonna have to eat that money

so beware!

Same goes for any site imo. I can't tell you the amount of times I look up reviews on Amazon and people are bitching about getting fake products.

It's unfortunate we live in such a dishonest world where people really work on the up and up. I realize sometimes shit happens and things do get lost in the mail, things get broken. But there's so many cheats on both ends. I bought this mini poster one time on eBay for a show I really liked at the time. I got it and I could tell right away that the seller had printed if off their own computer instead of it being an official promo poster. I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to risk spoiling my all positive feedback by leaving negative feedback so I just swallowed the losses. It was a painful lesson to learn.

Why would you think they would return anything at all. The scam you describe is for retailers. eBay buyer slap a tracking number on an envelope and return an empty envelope. BAM returned item. eBay doesn't give a shit.

EBAY OWNS PAYPAL NOW WHICH REALLY SUCKS!!

ebay totally sucks now. They rip off the seller and never do anything about people winning bids and then not paying. They also keep your money in paypal for weeks until you beg them to GIVE YOU YOUR OWN MONEY.....THAT YOU EARN...I am done with ebay and the Assclowns that run it....

Ebay us evil towards sellers. If you are a seller, prepare for scams galore.

People also pull this with game discs.

Example
You scratched your new ps4 game? No worries.

Buy a copy from ebay
Put your damaged copy back in the case the seller sent you and claim the item is damaged.

Here's one example.

net profit to the seller, the cost of the transaction in the red. The buyer? They get a new game disc.

Smart sellers mark their items with uv pens that are undetected unless under a uv lamp.

This way damaged claims will be thrown out.

But eBay may freeze your account, take access away to just that money or suspend you entirely in this time.

Good luck.

Re: EBAY sellers beware this Christmas season.
Hey assholes hating on America. Here is another scam

Seller is in the USA, buyer is in Europe.

1. Seller sells a nice item. Say it's a $200.00 bag. It is sold to someone in Europe.

2. Seller uses usps to track it. Not ups or fedex.

3. Item gets an American usps tracking number and sends it.

4. BUYER CLAIMS ITEM ARRIVES

puts in claim.

5. Seller disputes and provides usps tracking number which happens to only show it getting to somewhere on the east coast btw.

6. Buyer states item not received. EBAY REFUNDS THE BUYER THE FULL PRICE PLUS SHIPPING.

why does this work every time to fuxk the American seller over?

Even if the item is tracked, it ends at the port of exit out of the USA.

It means that whether or not it gets out to wherever and even delivered, it seldom ever had any tracking and does not show delivered.

This works better in countries that have no carrier deals with the usps. Italy, Greece, Spain.

And eBay every time wants happy buyers so the seller will have the money deducted from his or her paypal.

what if the seller has a zero balance in paypal?

Then your account is debited with that amount and you cannot use it until you bring it to zero balance.

Your PayPal and eBay are super linked. It is very hard now a days to create a new account.

It requires credit or debit card or a bank account and can be done, but not by most normal people.
You get what you pay (and vote) for.

too bad about your negative experience with selling to an American Ebayer. I sell full time on Ebay and sell things to people all over the world and have had very few problems. I avoid electronics of any sort due to scammers. Certain products do attract dishonest people. For me Ebay helps me make a comfortable income working from home. Don't be discouraged but be careful about the products you sell. Phones are completely out of the question for me. Too many horror stories.

Lots of iPad scams too where they have fake addresses you'd send to, while paying with a stolen card, then the card owner disputes. Had that happen to me 3-4 times. Scammery is rampant.

That is all just peachy till you get a nagative comment from a buyer through no fault of your own and ebay does zero to make things right. I mean zero. They suck. I will never sell on ebay again. I used to like them but have turned to disgust with their whole negative and sucky treatment of sellers. My advice - save yourself a lot of misery and financial loss and use other sites to sell on where sellers are treated with respect. Ebay sucks.

Even Ebay screws with you, I got a message offer from them that if I sold a phone I would get a ebay gift certificate. I sold my phone in the window of time according to exact instructions, I never got my gift certificate, but I got my account frozen for selling suspicious stuff, (supposedly phones get you on some watch list?) I never sold anything of mine there again.
