Nope. 1 John 3:7 specifically defines that teaching as deception. Paul was quiting scripture, the context of whixh is lost on most Christians since a) they don't bother with context b) they're to busy cherry-picking scripture affirm their own doctrine.

Luke 1:5-6

5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.

6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of YHWH blameless.

This is the Old Testament when people were still bound by the law, you my friend are taking it out of context. Christ came to show that none are righteous and all are in need of a saviour for we all fail to serve God almighty how we ought to. Why do you think the Pharisees crucified Christ? Because the Pharisees saw themselves as righteous and Jesus claimed none are righteous so that we may humble ourselves before God.

Luke is not the OT, and the Pharisees sought to kill him because he was a threat to their political power. And Jesus showed how to be righeous, by obeying God.

Matthew 5:20
For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Luke is the new but the scripture Luke was quoting was the Old, cmon man. If you weren't so focused on proving yourself right rather then truth seeking you would've seen this.

As for Matthew, Christ still had not been crucified. The only righteousness we produce comes from the Holy Spirit, not us.
 Quoting: Dwillss

No, Luke was not quoting the OT, he's talking about the parents of John the baptist. They were righeous. Period.
