Mr Chronos User ID: 70170111 United States 01/21/2016 09:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I recently purchased a small used RV for under $5000.00 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 13127957 I figured if I were to live in the RV, I could save $1000.00 a month in rent. I did the math, and you could actually do this! You would pay no rent, and save $12,000 a year based on a $1000.00 a month rent costs. I just might try this shit one day and give up throwing my money away on rent. I could just live off the land and not have any living expenses at all. I just have to figure out how to heat the RV very cheap during cold weather. There are always living expense. You going to drink spring water? Power your laptop (ooops, that is not free either). Not sure how long you can survive eating squirrel meat and pine bark. Ammo for your gun, that isn't free either. Those clothes will wear out sooner or later, you going to kill a bear and wear bear skin? Your idea is still valid, just don't take it to the extremely lest you fail. I did see something on TV where a couple did live in a medium RV, and they both worked 3 months in Vegas, and had enough cash left over to travel the next 9 months. Something like that seems a lot more plausible. |

You just have to keep fuel in the tank to keep going. The only problem would be keeping the RV warm in freezing temperatures. I will see if I can come up with a solution. Saving $12,000 a year on rent money sounds like a good idea to me. |

My grandmother's house. I could just have my mail sent there. Why not park the RV at your grandmas house and have the best of both worlds. Mail delivered and she can tuck you into bed at night. |
