Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3924266 Look up Migraine with aura for images of what it can be like. Never had any pain before, during, or after. Interesting though, so I will go look it up and read about migraine aura's. Thank you. My occular migraine are not painful at all. Just annoying because I can't see properly so can't drive etc I get them and while they don't hurt - thank God - they do make you unable to do anything else. I call them the prisms, as it is as if the cover of Dark Side of the Moon is animated - it's not got anything to do with my eyes, because I see the same shit when my eyes are closed. It happened to me one time in a grocery store and I literally fell to my knees. I couldn't drive home until it stopped. Usually it takes about a half an hour. It does cause me anxiety about driving though as you never know when it is going to come on. When it happens at home I put some kind of frozen food on the back of my neck and get on my hands and knees. For some reason that's my first impulse and it works. I had regular migraines for a couple of years and the dark room was the only way to go. |

It began with a slow darkening, and I thought maybe I was going to pass out. Then it changed to a flickering, and it was like someone turned the lights off and on. I began to think I was getting ready to have a stroke, or some other type of health crisis, so I just sat back waiting for whatever was to come. Then the WEIRD and also AMAZING experience happened. In my left eye I began to see beautiful moving breathing air. I could see it breathing in and out, swelling and shrinking rhythmically. (I know this sounds crazy!!! I never in my life believed in anything like this!) Think of the air above a fire, how you can see it sort of wave and ripple a little. It was like that when it began, but then seemed to explode into an amazing new dimension. It was crazy!!! Iteslly thought I was dying, or had already died, and was on my way to Heaven. I just let go of all my stresses and worries and enjoyed the show. Zigzags, waves, lights, all glowing and flowing together. Man, it was like being in two worlds at once. I could see the room I was sitting in, and this other place at the same time, in the same space. What the heck happened to me? I didn't even believe in this kind of experience, outside of maybe drug use, which I do not use ever. Nothing hurt. It lasted for about five minutes, it moved more and more to the left... then it was gone. Whoa!!! Quoting: CandyCigarettes Just wanted to share because it was a crazy amazing experience. I have no idea why this happened. I hope it happens again though. That sounds exactly like onset of a bad migrane headache as i have had this many times and didnt always result in the headache but usually did. Fwiw i would go to your dr and get checked as it could be something more. |
