Does anyone else here wish it was named CHAAD?

Idk, it could very well be that as they gather more flight test data the increasing software updates and improvements could make it more accurate. But you are right, these tests are done in optimum circumstances. But whos to say they couldn't test it in more real world scenarios?? They haven't seemed to me that they are covering up any negative results so far. And simply doing nothing is not an option, if a missile barrage is launched even a 50% hit ratio is going to save many lives. But as many have stated missle interceptors are akin to shooting a bullet with another bullet, and as the incoming missles are equipped with evasion abilities, decoys and travelling at hyper-sonic speeds the odds of interception are going to drop dramatically. But all technology has to start somewhere, and just absorbing any incoming missile strikes dosent sound like a good strategy.

I thought I read somewhere that these intercept missiles are not very accurate and hardly ever protect anything. It might have been years ago but it was when somebody was firing missiles at Israel and the things had a hit rate like less than 50%. Wouldn't surprise me if they are all just feel good weapons

That's a different system that was only around 50% accurate. That system has gotten better, but CHAAD knocks out incels with an almost 100% kill rate.

Military computers begin tracking launch angles as soon as a Kissel launches goofy ... with seconds the trajectory and target is calculated

Just laundering taxpayers $$ into military contractors stock holders; I just read this article about Russian Satan-2/RS-28 Sarmat icbm, i woudn't trust THAAD to stop one of this, with 24 independent warheads different yields from 300kt and up to one 50 megatons warhead.
A couple of this can wipe out our entire western world.
